If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

Maxwell?

Post by Celt »

Does anyone have anything to say about Maxwell black powder rifles? I've got a guy that will sell me a 50. For 125. The front and rear sight are both in need if replacement. They are there, just kind of jenky.
I don't know squat about bp.
Thanks

Is it a Maxwell or a markwell? Markwells have a really bad rep and are cheap as well as other words. Not sure about Maxwell. :D

Maxwell built fine automobiles many years ago, but that is the only reference I have for that name. Many Italian, Japanese, or Spanish made BP shooters are sold under a variety of house names.

Two nice orb shots, orbs may be energy, they may be dust related, them may be something else entirely, but what they are is in the pics of the cabinets.

I think for an extra 25 dollars it's worth getting the 12 gun.

Never heard of that rifle. I did a quick search and I couldn't find much. Just that they were made in spain and imported by maxwell arms. Seems that they are older imports but I can't find any company info. I saw a couple that were sold and they all sold for around $125. I saw a couple reports of having some week places in the stock. I would probably pass it by. Those cases look nice!

Forget about the cabinets and get a safe, probably what the seller did and now is selling the cabinets. These things are like a display case for the burglar, everything neatly in one spot, and not secured.

Celt, JYD said it man. Those cases don't have keys. No problem. The thief that smashed my glass and stole 10 guns from me didn't have a key either. Unless you live on the Ponderosa and have plenty of good security these cases are a nightmare waiting to happen. The less people know and can see the better. Word travels fast. The cable guy is doing a install at Celt's house and sees a display full of guns. He blabs to a couple of people, the wrong dude finds out. Or maybe it's a plumber. Or whoever. Maybe someone follows you home from the shooting range after seeing you carry a bunch of guns just so they can see where you live. When I was robbed, it was the day after I had been to the public range. I was young and dumb in the early 80's. I blabbed to all my friends. I showed my guns to all my friends. I carried way too many guns to the range at once. I never watched my mirrors. My brother worked 25 years in the pawn business. Was followed several times. Shot at once. A van pulled up at the house after waiting for him to get home, and a laser across their from window changed their mind. Man I am telling ya with all my heart forget that fancy showcase.

The areas of my home that can be publicly viewed display nothing that says "guns here".
