Range Time '33 Izhevsk

Post by tjtM38 »

I finally found a M91/30 in my collection that shoots the Russian Yellow Tip Heavy Ball ammo with good accuracy. The '33 Izhevsk shot well at both 100 and 200 yards. I got the 188/46 headstamp ammo last year from SG. Too bad I haven't seen any since, and I only have about 300 rounds of it left. Luckily, I have plenty of light ball silver tip, and this one shoots it about as well.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

The original Soviet target was a square about the size of the gray area on this mini-silhouette. I can see this target really well, so that is why I use it. My range doesn't care unless the target depicts real people. I also use the standard NRA high power 100 yard bullseye, but it requires a larger target backing than what I had in the truck today. We have to make our own target frames at my range.
