My Steyr M95/34 Showed up today!

Post by JDennis »

And I am kinda disappointed. They described them as very good condition and mine showed up with maybe 40% bluing and a banged up cracked stock. :( The bolt action is actually awesome but everything else not so much. I called them and they said that out of the shipment they get maybe 20% fall to what I got. I told them I would save mine if they hand picked another for me rather than shipping mine back and letting bubba get his hands on it. They are going to pick one out for me on Monday :)

Yes it was the ones from J&G. I bought one from my LGS and was awesome condition a couple weeks ago. So ordered another one. My LGS also had 50 rounds for them. The one I bought from them I took to the range and holy kick! A little more wallop than my mosins...

Here you go celt. Top 3 are M95 carbines and a long rifle. Next 3 are Swiss and at the bottom is a little Carcano M38.

Ok decided to take off all the Cosmo/grease first. It is soaking tonight. Kinda surprised how it is way more involved to disassemble. I got a mosin down to minutes to tear apart lol These seem to come quite goopy. My hands still smell like it even though they have been scrubbed a couple times since handling it.

The bolt is very tricky, But wait till you shoot it, it makes it all worth while. Sounds to me like the M95 Steyr
Has become the new have to have rifle. I guess I will go to the gun shop next weekend and get another one to replace the one I gave my Son. They are holding there last one for me.

I plan on ordering a few very soon... Wondering if I should do a handpick with J&G on these?

I got mine from my favorite Gun store two years ago and both were what I would call perfect. But I was able to hold them and give them a thorough inspection. I did not know any thing about them other then what the
owner of the shop told me, but they looked and felt good so I bought two. I like them a lot. He still has one and is going to hold it for me. Now that they are popular they will be going up in price.

Here are the pics. It actually cleaned up well. It definitely shows a story. The stock has the current serial and well as 3 others. The girl has definitely been around I feel. Haha That crack is at the base of the stock on the multiple serial number side. The butt plate has 0 bluing on it and looks to been used as hammer. I didn't remove it cause I didn't want to mess near the crack in the stock.
