If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

I want to see a video of those big smoothbores. With live action demonstrations.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

These days I have mostly been shooting the revolvers as they use less powder and lead than the big ones, and I have caps that are getting a bit old, time to use them. I have a no cameras on the range policy after almost losing one by accident, and it's a distraction when handling live weapons.

Bummer about that; we miss out on some sweet pics! :vsad:

I need to get my BP guns out this spring; I might even decide to fire the '60 Army my uncle built for my Grandpa. I miss some of the ones I've sold in the past, like the Baby Dragoon and the Walker. I would like to build a Tower Pistol-had a hankerin' for one of those since I was about 6! I built a Colonial Pistol in .45 like one in your pics, JYD, many years ago. Shot it for many years, then gave it to a friend to help spark his interst in BP (Dang that Entropy!), he gave it to another friend who did some 'home gunsmithing' on it; He made a barrel mount to replace the pin out of a screw and a .44 case, and ground the rear sight into a single post that lines up with the front post. He then gave it back to me...it hangs over my gun bench, ready to donate it's parts to keep another BP gun running. It most recently lent some lock pieces to my Traditions Hawken to keep it firing.

equation, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a
computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.

Had to move the pics, I had 3200 pics in one album, it was impossible to find anything without a long search, it's much easier now with 20 albums and numerous sub albums. The Japanese tower pistols are a mixed bag, most of them will have a soft frizzen, some are built as decorators but look the same as the shooters, just lower quality build. The blued one will spark enough to fire, the other one will not. People buy them without knowing what they are and get screwed. The blued one is built as a shooter, not really a tower gun as they didn't have bluing, sights, or a octagon barrel, it's still a smoothbore however. $60 at a car show a few years ago.

These are great, but you already know how I feel about them. I am going to get the black powder guns to the range this weekend.

cause It seems as if everyone loves old-time black powder revolvers. They hearken back to the old west, days of yore, Wild Bill Hickock, cowboy action shooting, and whatnot.
Welcome to the board, yes, these revolvers are a lot of fun, and because they are not 19th century originals they can be fired without fear of damaging their value.
