Horse trading / got a t53

Post by Gsragtop »

It's funny how things workout.. I love trading, always have the thrill of the hunt and the art of the deal.. As some might remember I picked up a Bubba 91/30 about a week ago.. My intentions were to restore it back to as close to original as I could.. However plans change, and on another corner of the Internet I found a guy looking to turn a Mosin Into a bubba.. Long story short I sold him my Bubba at a good profit to me. So what should I do with my new found profits, buy another Mosin of corse.. So I went over to a store I knew had a few t53's a few weeks ago.. One was left, and while it may not have been my first choice it being my only choice, I purchased it. Total actual money spent (after the purchase, sale, etc) around $90 !! ;)

So I have a t53, the stock is full of "character" lots of stamp marks (pics to come soon). The bore is probably the shiniest of any mosen I have ever seen. The rifling is all there, but not as tall as I would have liked to see. All and all it was a great day !! Now to shoot fire !!! :devil2: :popgun:

Took a few quick pictures last night, but I have a few questions.

Why is there a Izhevsk mark on the stock, at least that's what it looks like to me

Image

It also has a Chinese star in he stock

Image

Lots of these little number stamps all ove

Image

It has what looks like paint?? On the rear stock

Image

Some extra pics, I will try for better pics today

Inspection stamp that looks like one is more likely, however the equipment that made these rifles was Soviet supplied, some of the earlier parts had Soviet markings on them.
