Since the reshuffling of my photobucket account has removed the pics from most of my BP posts, here are a few of them from the old posts.

Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

I have no cabela's near me :(. There is a rumor that they are going to open one but I have no idea when that will be. Do they sellthem online? And black powder doesn't require the ffl so that should be able to ship directly correct? The shop that has alot of milsurps locally has alot of black powder too. I'm almost afraid to ask what they codt though lol. Most are very collectable and probably pretty high priced.

You can order any of them sent direct to you. I checked and Graf and sons has real BP in stock, their own brand, but it's OK. $27 haz mat fee per powder order if it's one can or the max of fifty, so you had might as well order a lot.
New bp replicas are not that expensive. Cabelas has the brass frame " navy" model on sale for under $200 a few times a year. The Lemat will run some bucks, but a basic Remington is under $300

Here's a link to a supplier of real black powder, just remember the hazmat fee. I'm working on getting a bunch of the local guys to buy what I don't want and just order a lot and make a few $$$ off it.
Awesome thanks for the info. I'll do some searching

Maple, the rifle was a design from one of the Hatfield's back in the 1830's, brought back in the 1970's and early 80's by a Hatfield descendant of the original maker.
