Nice High Standard!
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Here are a few more rimfires, that I think I have posted elsewhere, but will add to this thread.

Hey millman, nice collection! Those are all pretty amazing rimfires. I'm starting to get there...3 this month so far and (fingers crossed) the Mossberg M44 is coming home tomorrow.
I ran across a Norinco similar to yours on GB recently, but was unable to find a FFL in time to work with me. It ended up going for more than I hoped anyway, but, its definitely on my list of ones to look for.
Thanks for posting 'em up. I never get tired of looking at them

Cocked, locked and ready to rock...
Re: Some .22's.
What did the Norinco bring? They are kinda hard to find, and get snapped up quickly. I got mine from a friendly little old biker.

22 bids and sold for $440. It appears to be a popular item
(edit: was browsing other Norinco "ended auctions" and about a month ago, one sold for $699!)

Re: Some .22's.
Is it any easier to hit 'em with a scope? Since about all you can see is their head I guess it must. I have one scope but haven't used it much. What I mean compared to your's mine not much better than just looking at them. It's an old Bushnell I bought for my 760 Crosman in about 1974 and it's been on both my Winchester Mod. 250 and the Romanian Trainer. Most times when I'm turtle shooting I go bareback though. Gives 'em a sporting chance.millman wrote:WeldonHunter wrote:Why do you guys taunt me so with all of your fine wares?BTW Weldon, that Mossberg .22 Mag is my turtle gun.
Re: Some .22's.
The scope helps. I can look em in the eye, until it disappears.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: Some .22's.
Some people reading this might think it's cruel to shoot them but it's actually an act of conservation to do it. They over breed to the point that they eat everything in the pond. Culling them is healthy for the pond, the fish in it and ultumitly them. Some times I find them crawling through the yard looking for a new place to claim as home. The ponds are about 1/8 to 1/4 of a mile apart so you know they must get desperate enough due to overcrowding to look for other water sources.

Re: Some .22's.
Never had it, don't know if I ever will and believe me they do eat them here. They eat almost anything that moves here. I just had frog legs the other day. Tastes like chicken, lol. I've heard guys swear they'd rather have coon instead of chicken wings during a football game. We have a PBS program that has a Louisiana born and raised cook that cooked a dish with beaver tail. I'm open minded about food but...beaver tail...really?knssrtrd wrote:MMMMMMMMMm Turtle Soup.

Re: Some .22's.
I said you were nice.
BTW I looked that $699 one up. It was a NIB carbine version.

Re: Some .22's.
Chicken again, why is it every time someone tells you they ate something that turns your stomach they say it tasted like chicken? Frogs legs, things with tentacles, bugs, human flesh, all tastes like chicken. I am gonna have to haul out the dictionary and see if there is a picture of a chicken under the word shit
