Can opener needed for spam can?

Post by Rocket »

I'm gonna order a spam can, and having never had one before, I don't know if the can opener for an additional $6 is a luxury or necessity.

If you already own a hammer and a chisel, it is a luxury.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

You can open up a spam can without the opener, but it's a sizeable pain in the a$$. I would pay for the can opener or just order a crate and get the free one inside

Sportsman's guide has crates as cheap as you ca find them right now and they always have coupon codes available online to help defer the shipping costs.

Those openers are worth their weight in gold! I spent an hour with a hacksaw & channel lock pliers to get mine open. Needless to say this was a MAJOR PITA!

It's like everything else, as soon as the sellers found out people would pay for them they stopped including them for free :big shock:

These http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/4 ... x?a=865012 are showing backordered but if you order them and use Coupon Code SH657 (expires tonight 3-14-13 at 23:59PM) they will ship them free and most likely before May 1st like they're saying. There's guys on here that have ordered them recently and already recieved them. I believe they ship the 880rd deal in the crate with an opener.

Get the opener, I now know were three of mine are and I have one nailed in place so it can't go anywhere.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Would have been one funny video if the sparks set the porch on fire.

Then we could have seen a demonstration of ammo popping like pop corn in the fire, and the other spam can he probably had inside that is still sealed up, be interesting to see what would happen to that when the house went up.

Believe it or not that's how we grind door skins off of cars when they are too bad to fix. If course there's no live ammo in a car door!
