FOUND: Original slings for M38 at good price

Post by TrainWreck »

I noticed several people on forums asking where they can get original M38 slings for the M38's they just got from Classic Arms. Since I was not really satisfied with what I was seeing on Ebay, I emailed gunsnammo.com (Pat Burns)at finnishm39@yahoo.com. Her reply was that she had some in good condition at $14.99 each. I ordered three of them. I have not gotten them yet so I can't say anything about them but all the M39 rifles with slings I have gotten from her have been exactly as described. I don't know how big her supply is so don't think about it too long. :pointleft:

The Burns bunch probably have enough slings to belt from New York to Texas. I have also bought some of the "extra used" ones from Suzie's Surplus on ebay for a lot less and they were fine. Also check out the slings on Numrich, way back at the end of the Mosin listings, that were wartime expedient slings, they have a large cool factor. Numrich lists them as Finn, but I believe them to be wartime Soviet slings.

Pat would toss an extra sling into the box of a rifle I was buying if I asked.

There is a local Mom and Pop leather and sling provider around here that has been really good and cheap for me at shows around here and for the life of me I can't find their card right now but if it turns up I will send it along. Their leather stuff is great and although repro is tough to beat for the price. Their Swedish slings are really nice and made of high quality leather the right way too! Bill :D

I could probably use another M1907 sling for the M14.

I have recently read on another forum that these slings may not be (probably aren't) specifically for the M38. The email I received from the seller assured me that they were for the M38 so that is why I ordered some. I have not received the three I ordered yet so I don't what I will get. My apologies to all who ordered these due to my posted message. At least you can know that I got screwed too. Sorry.
