Re: My First Finn
The seller was looking for words to fill the item description but lacked the knowledge to do it properly. It's a Soviet M91/30 rifle captured by the Finns in either the Winter or Continuation war. They upgraded the stock with a nice Finn two piece, added the sling rings, and Finn matched the bolt . Very nice example of the type
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I personaly like the captures a lot. They have as close to verified combat experience as you can get excepting a papered bringback. Nice one. Is this the one with the 41 mark or is that the other one.

One of these days I will be able to start a thread titled "My First Finn". But until then I will
over other peoples Finnish captures. Nice Mosin, congratulations on your purchase.

Re: My First Finn
It must be ...uhm ...some other rifle then
No what I am referring to is the 41 capture mark on the right side of the shank of the captures for the year 1941. For some reason they marked the later captures with that mark. This mar helps identify it from an earlier capture and also gives it added known (possibly) history.
