I have been doing that for years. It is my ammo fund. My wife also spend hers, but anything in my pants pockets go into the detergent jug on my dresser when I undress. I recently made a big mistake when I suggested my wife go dig her out some quarters for something. She has now found my gold mine and it is no longer safe.............

Since that first time she has rouged it ,unmercifully, on a nearly daily basis. I nearly cry when I see boxes of ammo disappearing one quarter at the time.

I give my wife an "allowance" to take care of the family stuff with. The rest goes in to the bank. The OT is play money. I try and save as much as I can, but if a deal comes by, I buy. I wish I could not get attached to a rifle so quick as a lot of them, I could flip for some good $$$ :D

We do the same thing. A big Crown Royal bag is about another gun.

I save mine, but it goes to the young one's bank account. I let her carry it in, watch them run it through the counter and have her sign the deposit slip. She's a scrooge with her cash too! lol

I did sign up for the Cabela's reward club. Those few dollars here and there add up pretty quickly!

every week I put $5, $10, sometimes $15, and occasionally even $20 in my super secret little free checking account -- it adds up faster than you might think!

We have a few big change jars stashed away... Probably have a few Hundred $$$$ or more. We just add to the stash & don't touch it, It's part of our SHTF fund.

All of my change except quarters goes into a plastic jar I have. It has come in handy some time when I wanted to buy something.

I keep spare change in a sock on my nightstand, when the sock gets full I turn it in at one of the coin machines, tend to get $30-$50 that is then spent on food. I already spent the food money on guns. Anybody found messing with the sock will never be found again

Ditto, on the coffee cans. I had about 12 years worth of them saved up one time a few years ago. It was about $900 give or take. Out of site out of mind.

Last time I turned in $75 of change into one of the machines I took the slip to the service counter and they ask for my DL. Being paranoid and smelling the tax man someplace I told them I didn't drive, and never carry ID. Then they start suggesting they can't pay me, I say no problem, just go get my $75 back out of the machine and i will be on my way. That got them flustered, I then told them return my money or we could involve the police, that got my $75 cash in a hurry and so far as I know nobody has been so bothered again. Police officers at traffic stops get to see my ID, nobody else, not in this day and age of identity theft and who knows what else. Seems the store had a rule that anything over $35 in change required ID but failed to put this in writing anyplace, I spend an average of six grand a year in that store for the last 27 years buying the weekly groceries, and they know it. Nobody asks to see my ID anymore if I should buy booze or cigars , they just assume I am old enough just by looking at me :vsad:

I'm terrible about using change in my pocket, so I end up accumulating quite a bit each week. I pull the copper pennies out and then save it in Crown Royal bags until I'm ready to deposit all of it. I use it towards a fishing trip each year.
