Gators, that's canvas strapped around the pant bottoms to keep the pants from flapping around, replaced by a wool wrap a year or two after the pic was taken.

Some of us still wear the "gators" or "spats". They have just migrated up a couple of feet to either keep our backs in line or our guts from falling out.

When were you there?

I was the commander of the division's MI battalion 95-97. I deployed the 101st MI to Tuzla when we took over the SFOR/IFOR mission in September 96 (I hit my 2 year command mark in February 97and turned over command). My Bn HQS was the small 1 story building right next to the division HQs building - aka The White House.

Did you guys do the Superman campaign with the anti-mine message? I have copies of the comic books and posters.

I was there jul 96- feb 97. Started out with quarter cav over at Camp Molly. After the changeover we moved to the base over near the ZOS with 1ID. Ya that was one of our campaigns. I also worked with the Russians a lot during the elections. Also did that little operation in the ZOS when those 8 MUPs came in from Zvornik and beat up a bunch of Bosnians. And in Jusici.

I think the 1/26 CDR was Robin Swan in 96-97.

I think that is him. I was thinking of the LTC before him that was with 1/4 Cav.
