Santa brought me an RGuns Sniper 2 years ago. I got a flyer in the mail last week from them and they still list them for sale so I guess they had a lot of them and/or people don't like dropping $800 for them. Sure proud of mine and glad I got it before the economy swallowed me up and things changed in a big way, not good just big..

One of my first posts here at the "new place" . :alien:

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and better New Year.

Hi Joe,
You took the long route to get here!??

They (RGUNS) have a few PU snipers left. I think they will last a little while yet (but who knows).

After reading Dolk's summary of the RGuns Russian sniper I find myself wanting a sniper rifle

I think you should get one then. Just think, as soon as they sell out, they will go up at least $200 So what else can you get a 20% increase on your investment? :D :D :D

I recently picked up a Original refurbished 91/30 PU sniper from Rguns. They imported a number of these about 2 years ago. They are original ww2 Russian sniper rifles including there scopes and mounts. These rifles are post war refurbished and former Ukraine military property.Rguns ships each one of these purchased in its own plastic padded dosko case.Mine right out of the box was zeroed in and capable of less that 1 inch groups at 100 yards. What a blast this gun is at the range to shoot.

I have 2 R Guns PU's and 1 Samco Yugo refurb PU, all 1944's, and consider them great rifles and investments, enough so that I might buy a couple 43's

RGUNS should give a free numbers matching handpick discount to members of this board. I'm thinking of getting one now. Need to replace my PSL with something that will shoot long range and a Mosin PU seems to fit that bill.

Hey, someone who shoots theirs! :)
So obviously the scope is good and works.
I take it you do not need the bayonet mounted on a sniper rifle to tighten up your groups, due to that barrel harmonics thing? That these were sighted in without the bayonets? I can't imagine a sniper wanting that extra length, but ya never know.

I don't have a C&R, and due to the amount of hassle the Fed has generated to obtain it, I don't plan to get one. Does RGUNS have a retail will-call desk that I could visit and just buy one?

Not sure, but on their website is a phone number. You can call and ask. IIRC you actually have to call them to order one anyway. They don't do email orders.

Since when?? They are doing the same procedures for a C&R that they have done for a long time now. Except in NY and LA. Then they require a "visit" from an agent first...so what.

It's not that hard to get a C&R, simple form, $30 and mail it in. You have to obey the law when you have it, but that's easy also.

Now if you're not going to use it, then it is a waste of $30.

They do have a show room with the Snipers on the rack, (well, a few of them anyways).
RGUNS will not sell you one unless you live in their state (Illinois) and they go by Illinois laws.
If you have a C&R, they will sell to you even if you are out of state.

I do see a lot of these on the secondary market... Guys buy them, find they don't really shoot them much & start seeing them as a Ca$h Cow for other purchases. I'm kinda waiting for one of those.

Picked up my 44 Tula PU from them yesterday. They had 7 on the rack, 6 were Izhevsk's and one Tula so I snatched that up in a heart beat. I asked, and they gave me the bayonet, oiler, sling, mag pouches and tools with pouch. Just like if I had bought a regular 91/30. I also got a crate of their 7.62mmR x 54 silver tip ammo. I named her Roza after Roza Shanina the female Russian Sniper

My R guns 44 Izhevsk came with a bayonet that did not match 2E GERMAN ammo pouches the PLANO hard case and the heavy duty sling. I think the whole rifle has been turned and then re stamped, although I don't know. The barrel is stamped with the 2 Cyrill letters the number I forget. The bolt, a rabid beaver ground it or Ivan had WAY to much coffee.
I was wondering about the bayonet too. If a sniper had to use that he was having a really bad day.
I ordered a '43 and a '44 Tula from ATI. I know the provenience is different from Rguns, but I think they are real and they are nice. As far as I heard Eric at Rguns opened a few crates a few weeks ago. They may have Tulas now, they were out a month or so ago, I asked.
The Rguns will go up then the ATIs will, bet? The ATIs that I have seen are T total match Arsenal stamp to S#, scopes yes or no.
ATI have left:
'42 Izhevsk OUT :vsad:
110 Izhevsk 43's
80 Izhevsk 44s
5 '43 TULA
5 '44 Tula
That's it for them I think Rguns have a few crates left but there was a big run on them 2 months ago because they were sending match stamped mount and scope. Of course I get one that is EP'd. I was more than a bit peeved about that. I paid 800 bucks for the rifle and I got a 600 dollar appraisal the same day :very mad: from a local collector, so it's worth what 700?
The rifle before mine matched scope to floor plate the rifle after mine matched scope to floor plate. Eric said he thought they were not that great compared to mine. It may look muttish, but it is a great shooter. It's in the eye of the owner or collector, I guess that is why the appraisal was low. No matter I own it now. I was going to buy another one and ask for them to get a matching one, but there was a falling out about the price and well I went to ATI.
I said: "2 guns sitting side by side both are Rguns one is EP'd the other total match arsenal to S# to font, which is worth more to you?" I thought so. :popgun:
