Mosin/Czech Carbine M91/38

Post by redspoon »

Found this one in a local pawn shop, just got it out of layaway. $325 otd.

1907 Imperial Tula
The little star below the date on the shank is actually a czech star. True carbine rear sight, circle T on the receiver is also czech. For an old M91 the bore is in real good shape, even with a little shine. Not sure what the Czech's used for a finnish, but it sure looks nice, I don't believe this one was issued after the Czech's re-worked to the M91/38 configuration.

Yep, 91/38. I go years without seeing even one & now their all over the place. But I never get tired of seeing them... Another fine looking example.

I just noticed you didn't include a picture of the wide based front carbine sight :shifty:

Your correct ZKend, but it does have the wide front sight base. I'll post up a couple more pics of that and where the bayonet lug once was.

Here ya go ZKend, and don't call me shifty  All the M91/38's should have the wide front site base, and the little purple sideways figure eight where the bayonet lug was ground off.

These were re-configured by the Czechs, probably in the fifty's or sixty's, guessing that's why they still look fresh.

The hand guard end caps are steel.
