M1891/30 refurbished Soviet rifle that at one time was a dragoon rifle. 1920 is a Russian Revolution year, the white and Red armys were still battling it out in Russia that year, production totals are likely to have been low with all that going on. Nice find
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

I think i would call it..Flippin cool. A late war finn capture only to be recaptured and then redone by the soviets. I would call it a treasure trove of history too. Is the reciever the original 20?

It is a reused receiver from an earlier rifle, something the Russians and Finns did, not that uncommon, they never wasted a good receiver. With material shortages due to the internal strife in the country I would expect them to reuse anything and everything they could at that time.

Not a recapture, at the time all sides were using Imperial era Mosins, the commies had the arsenals and were turning out new rifles, but the majority of rifles in service with the new Red Army would still be Imperial era ones in 1920.

Very, very cool. How much did it set you back? I remember one of those recaptures went for around $900 on gunbroker a few months back (I thought that was to high myself, but I met a world of opposition when I voiced my oppinion on another forum about it).
Oh, the SA, missed that, didn't know what everyone was talking about, can't see for shit anymore,

Clayshooter, thank you.
I believe that particular rifle was a Finnish Tikka rifle and would have only been a Russian captured rifle, but it would be very rare to show up in a crate of Ukranian refurbs so I guess it was a must have for the buyer and when money is not an issue you see crazy things.
The seller was asking $240.00 for this one and where it was listed I didn't have alot of time for negotiation so because of the rarity factor I thought it was worth it.
I was going to post about another 91/30 rifle that sold for over $400 in the last couple days but as I saw that a member of this forum was the seller I decided not too, that one was crazy but................

Even as a plain refurb it would look good.
The finger grooves are different for sure. Must have been cut on V-E day or something when the vodka was REALLY flowing.
