New PU (PICS)

Post by Jamjor »

So my new PU came today. I am from Canada remember, and these were being advertised as original repros.

Some of them are blurry, sorry. I will try to retake some later.

Very niiice! A Molot sniper without any import marks?

1943 Izhevsk with a fairly rare 1943 produced Kazan factory SVT type scope, can't tell if the mount is Izhevsk or not without seeing the inside or better pic.s.

Looks like you got a winner! How is the bore?

Bore is beautiful. There is some pitting on the outside of the barrel, and it was shaved down a slight slight bit with a lathe. Other than that, its all beautiful.

Jamjor, were you able to ask the seller about 1942 dated PU rifles?

Yes, he had sold them all a while ago. I know the rust is common, though. My 33 Tula has some about the same.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Well too bad about the "42"s but without those big import marks, you have a big extra plus.

I am really curious, do they have any importer marks at all or added (IO) serial numbers.?

He's in Canada remember. They don't have the import laws and requirements to stamp rifles like we do.

Thanks, I was wondering if there laws don't require any type of import marks at all?

These rifles would "really" look good with no markings and if so some better pic.s would be sweet!
