SKS and ammo.
Re: SKS and ammo.
I grabbed 100 rounds of 7.62x39 at wally world new years day for $4.75 per box. I haven't been back since, so no idea whether it's still available for that price or even in stock.

Probably empty at this point.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Yup, very empty... I go maybe once a week and every single time they're out of mostly everything. No 7.62x39 or 5.56 of course and also no 9x19mm, .40, .45 (except for hollow point type stuff)... This is at three different Wal-martsJunk Yard Dog wrote:Probably empty at this point.

They don't even have 30/06, 25/06, 30/30, or even 243 around here right now.
32 ACP is even sold out. I picked up a fair condition VZ50 the other day so I was looking for extra ammo for it.
I'm glad I bought the bulk pack of 7.62x39 at the beginning of the month. I didn't have any thing that shot it until around Christmas so I had no stocks built up.

Who the hell even shoots .32acp with any regularity?

Re: SKS and ammo.
My daughter likes to shoot the little pop guns. So I go through a bit of it. But that was why I was so surprised it was sold out. Usually the boxes have dust on them when I pick up a new one. Then pow no one in the area has them in stock and a lot of the online dealers are sold out.

Re: SKS and ammo.
The Old Man has a Mauser pistol that uses it, he stole it out of a German house in 1945 and rarely shoots it, I have a few boxes of ammo for it should the need arise. Bought it for the cartridge converters I ended up never using.

Re: SKS and ammo.
I have a Mod 70 Beretta and now the VZ50 both in 7.65. The Beretta was the first pistol she ever shot. Now she claims it's hers.
I'm just waiting to see her reaction to the VZ50. It's one of the six number serial ones. She'll probably claim it as well.

My smallest is a Beretta 1934 .380, I have ammo for it but never use it , took it off a kid years back who almost accidentally shot me with it.

Re: SKS and ammo.
My ex "lost" my 1934 a few years ago. I was looking at one in a local pawn last week but couldn't bring myself to shell out $400 plus for it.
I'm looking for a cheap SA to get her started on revolvers. Might as well get her started out right on them.

Re: SKS and ammo.
That sucks, the '34 is a good little pistol, fits the pocket nice. Ruger Blackhawk is a nice SA

Re: SKS and ammo.
Very true, I've had a itch to get an .44 mag for years.
Re: SKS and ammo.
I picked up a Spanish Eibar Echasa GZ off Armslist last summer for $60 (if I recall correctly) with a busted firing pin, something they were prone to. Just bought a slide off GB that had the firing pin still in it (for the price that sources wanted for just the firing pin alone) and am currently working out the bugs in it, shot it last weekend and it's a great little shooter but had to tweak the mag ears a bit and it still doesn't like going all the way into battery 100% of the time so did some checking and the recoil spring is a bit shorter than it's supposed to be, so have one on the way from Numrich. Now just have to find some more ammo, it came with one box of Remington and I burned through half that fiddling with it! If I can get ammo, I'm sure it's going to be one of the gals favorite shooters for sure.Junk Yard Dog wrote:Who the hell even shoots .32acp with any regularity?

Sorry, I gave my three boxes to the Old Man, and he's got it squirreled away, seems he heard something on the news about empty gun shops or somethingmogunner wrote:I picked up a Spanish Eibar Echasa GZ off Armslist last summer for $60 (if I recall correctly) with a busted firing pin, something they were prone to.
