I certainly miss the days when SOG had Czech silver tip for $39.00 for 880 rounds. If I had only had a few more spare dollars back then......

I still have 5 or 600 rounds of Czech. I usually shoot a new Mosin with a couple of rounds just to remind them of what they are capable of

Happens to me at least twice a year with the tool cars, but never on the road. It is not possible to lose the brakes on a Model A Ford, mechanical for both e brake and service brakes. each wheel has a steel rod going to it that is connected to a central shaft that is connected to the pedal. As Henry Ford said, who ever heard of a Model A that lost all four brake rods at the same time

i have been told that walmart has suspended ammo orders at this time and sales of ar's and minis ,and others are following too , WTH is really going on here ...
I asked wally world about this and they said they are ordering but there is no where for them Fo resupply from...who knows...result is the same...no guns...no bullets. If I hadn't seen first handthe buying rush ( of which I participated) I would think the govt has a 'silent lock down' on these items being able to b purchased by stores. I also know several local gun shop owners personally (dont we all) and they also can't get anything.

Ammo will return, but very slowly, any and all inventory is currently gone. My guess is at this moment what rolls out or off the assembly line is already deemed sold. The manufacturing capacity for ammo is amazing, but currently it's bought faster than produced. To retool and up capacity to meet demand would be difficult for this situation, because once it returns to normal, all that equipment would be sitting not needed any longer. In the long run companies would get little or no return on the long term investment they made. Not too mention the amount time required to set up more manufacturing, the equipment tuning, ect. Most companies cant or won't justify that expansion for a buying spike, an expansion for war time, that I could understand due to government contracts.

Re: the ammo is gone
My son and I went through nearly a brick of .22 LR today. I had to replace it with .22 short from the local Wallyworld; three boxes for me and three for my wife. . The .22 short will load in my Chinese JW-15 and .22 revolver just fine. The only pistol ammo in the store was about 15 boxes of .380 auto at $14.00 and change/box. There was some 30-30, no '06, a few boxes of less popular rifle rounds.
What is kinf of comical is in 2008, after I could not buy .45ACP for love or money, I bought a 9mm Beretta, because 9mm was in stock throught the '08 shortage.
For the last three years, my motto has been to buy a little more than I shoot, so I will be fine for quite a while.

I am curious if we will find some good deals next year, after a lot of people have all these guns and ammo, and don't really shoot them, and start needing $ for back to school and Xmas. Ironically, I have found a couple of good deals on guns in the last month and a half.

Re: the ammo is gone
I am not really into the 20 year prep thing, but I do think great grandparents...or great great grand parents had it right....can enough food for 3 years and always been eating on the three year old canned stuff....replenishing it each year with the garden/livestock and you can make it through most anything. They were more worried about drought than the govt though. They also knew that if they were in trouble, their neighbors would help them...the govt didn't evn cross their mind cuz it wasn't their job. People are way too dependant on govt everything...even the govt is overwhelmed. People still haven't gotten help from the storm this Fall (of course it's not really covered much in the news). Anyway, I'll get off my soap box. I have AT least 1000 RNDS for all guns I own but don't have over 3k for any one gun. Have well over a year in food supply and am working on a year in $$ as back up for job loss or anything else. No I don't have cable and all that other stuff, have a car that is decent but 12 yrs old so I don't have huge payments and a modest house. I live within my means and that is peace of mind. 20,000 rnds isnt going to save you if shtf especially if you are in a city. I am looking to be sustainable as far as hunting and being able to process and support myself. If you can do that you don't need to go to the "super dome" for food and water. The only thing I don't have is a high capacity rifle like an AK. If I were to get one Id get an AK 74...anyone have one they want to sell? Ok, Good night allJunk Yard Dog wrote:This has become a self feeding frenzy, it's not the administrations threatened legislation driving it, now it's story's about empty gun shops and internet sellers with sold out signs . The gun shops are selling out of ammo, quick, lets get down there and grab us some, the zombies might wake up this weekend! For this reason I always keep on hand what I might need, and I have not bought a single round of ammo in over a month, since well before all the shit started. I also don't have to panic and rush the grocery store hours before a huge snowfall, why? Because I keep food in the house all the time, more than enough to see me through any temporary shortage. Some prepping is a good thing.

Wally Worlds around here is slowly getting more common ammo back in stock like x39, .223, .22LR, handgun calibers...
To many to list, many more to get, not enough money :-D
