Basically just the length of the cartridege. Ballistically there is virtually no difference.

45 gap or glock auto pistol. I believe they made it to match the 45acp but fit in same frame as their other calibers. The 45acp glocks have a larger grip area.

from what i remember about 45 GAP it is 45 glock auto pistol , it was desined for a line of compact glocks to make the gun much smaller for CCW , yet deliver the punch of a full power 45 acp , but its more like a .380 vs a 9mm , it dose give up some power over the apc , but it fits in a gun that is about the size of a .380, with about twice the punch , i am quite sure you cannot shoot 45 acp in a 45 gap ..... :popgun:

I shot a Glock in 45 Gap & it was a dream to shoot. Uncle has one too. You can use 45 ACP dies to reload, ammo is available & you can probably find a used pistol cheap.

Again; A blast to shoot.

The only problem I have with 45 GAP is that it's an odd ammunition that is not readily available in my neck of the woods. Of course right now it's not like much if any ammunition is available right now. I tend to stay away from the odd sized ammo unless it's a common mil-surp caliber where I could buy a lot of it in bulk for a reasonable amount of money.

Yes, it is odd ammo. But many places online carry it & the price ain't too bad. Small pistol primers, standard 45 bullets, 45 ACP dies & your good to go. I should get ahold of my buddy & see if he still has his. I might be in the market if it's for sale. I always find myself thinking about that pistol.... They are that nice. 8-) 8-) 8-)

If you shoot at a public range you will be surprised to see just how similar the brass on the ground blends with others, so you may be picking up lots of extra brass at the range, but I like to do that anyway.

Like others have said, the 45GAP shoots like a dream. Had a few at my shop and found they were quite hard sells. The uncommon ammo is what holds it back IMO. Though for a Glock guy it is a must have, just like the law enforcement only .380 Glock. Id go for a 9, .40 or 45 before I would go GAP just cause I could buy ammo at a variety of places in my hometown and down have to track it down on the internet.

For the GAP you just need to make a large online ammo purchase then reload what you have. It's an indulgence caliber you have to accommodate.

Here you go... And it's on-sale too.

Yep... I love the 45ACP. But after you get the chance to shoot GAP it sucks you in & you find yourself wanting one. I've shot the Glock 21 & 36 & both are sweet.

45GAP was starting to filter in slowly in my area before the buying spree. Some calibers take time to catch on, ammo for my G31 in .357 Sig was hard to find at first, but got more common as time went on.

That's why I try to stay away from them, I fired a few mags of 10mm through a G20, and have been fighting the urge.

I shot a buddy's and while I liked it I didn't like it enough to add another caliber to the ones I load for. I have a Glock G36 (single stack .45ACP) on order, it's going to be my carry gun when I retire. I could stay with my G27 (.40 S&W) but when I turn in my G22 I plan to sell the G27 and put the proceeds towards a Kimber or another C&R purchase.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!
