To be honest I'm a big fan of this one... If nothing else it's been a great conversation with everyone going out of their way to try & nail it down.

Anyway.... It's now on the Mosin Showcase & on the index page. Great submission!!! :vcool: :vcool: :vcool:

Nice rifle.Real nice rifle!! Is that an Izhevsk triangle on the cocking knob  ? But I sure don't see any grinding on it. The C H stamp is funny though, and that may be why it sat on a shelf. If you look at my ATI 44
44 Recvr.JPG
Tula post it has the exact same stamp with the exact little stamp between the C*H and it looks nothing like any of my 3 43 Tula PU

. I think it was CN the N looks like a H. This makes me want to know more about that stamp. Mine has been called a fake because of that funny stamp on other forums.
Anyone know about that English CH stamp?

I will tell you all this: This discussion has been very interesting, and it has solidified my vow to not buy a 91/30 sniper.

That said, that is a beautiful rifle, If it was humped, at least it was well humped; and I still believe Martin's soul is spoken for. :devil2:

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Martin, I know nothing about your personal life, but as a lover of these old rifles, I have seen enough to know that you are indeed, rich in these artifacts.
As with most riches, I am sure that the collection has come about by hard work, study and dedication. I am glad someone is doing it.

Well, Jim, you might just have me there. I just opened the new Shotgun News, and Mitchell's Mausers has the all original snipers for $699.00. Now that I can buy with confidence, one may just happen. By the way, you did see the current SGN in the bottom of the box didn't you?
