My new 60

Post by Sirex »

Well, I love my Marlin 795, but hope to pass it down to my son eventually. Figured I needed a nicer looking rimfire to play with. Picked this Marlin 60 at Wallyworld, sold the cheap scope that come with it and bought a Simmons Mag22 4x32 silver scope. Ordered a metal trigger guard/trigger assembly for it. Was going for a Ruger 10/22, but figured I'd burn so much money on that thing, and don't need to worry about mags, LOL.

It just needs a bayonet, tactical light and laser, and maybe saw the stock in half and get a hinge from Home Depot to make a folding stock. :big shock:

Nice gun. I've got a scope that I really want to put on my Winchester 190. Was it difficult getting that larger scope on?

Very good looking rifle.I like the scope on it to. Those model 60s last forever. I gave my son one when he was 12 and he still has it. Oh yeah my son is now 43!

Hawk99TA the secret is in the scope rings. They make rings that allow the use of the larger scope on 22 grooved receivers.

WHAT :big shock:  Ruger makes a fine .22, so does Marlin, Savage, and so on, they all work pretty well, Rugers main advantage is the number of aftermarket things you can stick on it.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

The scope fut perfectly, like it was made for it. Bought the scope off Ebay with the rings included. The sight picture is pretty nice. The 4x20 scope it came with just seemed way to small.

That is a nice rifle.

I really like the tube-fed guns. I gave my son my 10/22 when I found an old Winchester M-190 for $75.00. I believe that the Winchester is a better gun, you just can't accessorize it like a Barbi Doll. :D
