Re: 91/30 more pics
Does it say something like Rguns, or ATI or CAI (Century arms). The whole point to this is if it says Rguns, it is real, ATI I think the consensus is probably real, There are others. Some mean real, some mean probable fake/put together.

Re: 91/30 more pics
ok i see what your saying , but i don't see that any where. would it be behind the scope mount? those marks in the last pic oviously mean nothing then right?
Re: 91/30 more pics
If is is under the mount, I would say that would indicate the mount was put on here after it was imported. On older imports the import stamp was usually located at the end of the barrel near the muzzle. You might look there. I am not a sniper expert, hopefully someone can give you better info.

Re: 91/30 more pics
Look through here. http://7.62x54r.net/MosinID/MosinImport.htm These are examples of some common import marks and where they are. We need to see the whole rifle and other parts close up. Not just close ups, pull back some and take pictures that have more of the rifle in them. Parts like the bolt, specifically the bolt handle. Also the scope and mount including the markings for the scope, the lower scope mount and any numbers it has on it. Here's mine. This should give you an idea what we need to see in the way of pictures. viewtopic.php?f=36&t=6210&hilit=AIM+Pu+Sniper

No but that depends on where you, as in what country. If you're in the US then it most likely has one somewhere but not all do depending on when it came into the country and how.

Re: 91/30 more pics
Well what I see from what you've posted so far it's not like mine which is imported by InterOrdnance by way of Molot to the US. These Molot rifles still have questions involving their origin and may be authentic but we can't say with total certainty. The import markings we are refering to are US required marks so your rifle will most like not have them because you're in Canada. We still need to see more of the rifle. There's a lot of variables involved in determining if an M91/30 PU Sniper is genuine or not. I'm by far no expert but what I've seen so far looks good.Zing_er wrote:ok thanks. looked at your pics, i will on gettting some different pics together and posting. thanks for the help. going to check out that link for the markings.. i hope it's a ifferent one then the ones i have already looked at with no luck....lol. thanks for the help will get the pics up as soon as i can.

Re: 91/30 more pics
Canadian milsurps do not have import marks, that crap is something the US government requires the importers in the US to put on their imported rifles. Stop looking, the import mark is not there, I do not know the history of PU snipers imported into Canada, in the US the fake snipers were put together by US importers and sold in the US, sometimes they were built in Ukraine by order of US importers and then sold here. Canada can still import rifles from Russia, and other places, but I am sure the people here on the board who know the PU sniper can assist you, they will need pics of the entire rifle, and the mount, scope, entire receiver.

Re: booklet 91/30
That is a Molot Book. This is obviously one of the latest imports that we saw here. Probly got some in canada too. I believe this clears up your mystery. Jury still out on these but mostly presumed real. Congrats.

Re: booklet 91/30
The only question I have about it is what looks like a laser engraved logo on the scope. Surely they weren't using lasers to mark scopes in 1944. I think I second the suggestion made earlier that it is a real sniper rifle with a repro scope.I could be wrong, and would readily admit it, but, I don't know.

Re: booklet 91/30
ARGGHHH!!!! I just lost another post. I've been signed out 20 or 30 times today. The picture of Zing_ers looks like dot matrix if you blow it up. Is that a type of laser Eric? I blew up the logo below. I have Ratniks scope charts from gunboards saved to my computer and the one's he has that are from the same factory, 297, are the same. I can blow them up with paint enough to see it but photoshop makes them blurry for some reason. You can see it here if you look down the page. http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread. ... ufacturers and here at post 78 and 79 http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread. ... rers/page2millman wrote:The only question I have about it is what looks like a laser engraved logo on the scope. Mike, cut/copy your replys before hitting submit, and then you just copy them back into the reply box if your post gets eaten.
