PU sniper rifle deer hunting

Post by neorebel »

I decided to take my PU sniper rifle hunting this year. One shot one button buck done hunting in 10 minutes.

It was a classic shot the button buck turned slightly sideways so I had a great shot from the left chest through the neck. He didn't go anywhere. Wolf 203 grain is great!

 The ex-german sniper is now a deer sniper. Nice!
Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

Ah, you beat me to it. I just finished the initial cleaning of my PU today. I can't take it hunting till I go back to the range to zero it.

The deer have been within 100 yards this year. I could probably just use iron sights to take them. I might use my british No4 Mk1 this coming monday for fun. :shifty: :shifty: :shifty: :shifty:

I have one more doe tag to fill.

I had a large doe standing in the middle of my year road yesterday, full profile, just looking at me, blinked a couple of times and when I inched up to within three feet of her she ambled off to the side and then stood there watching me. So trusting, so stupid, I consider her part of my emergency meat inventory.

Ah, I didn't notice before, a deer from the "show me state", been there a couple times.

I could say Fort Leonard Wood was an experience, :o and the Anheiser Bush and the Gateway Arch Tours were pretty cool!

I bet that 203 grain rocks pretty good, at least the deer thought so, Congrats once again!

Yep he didn't go anywhere. Just laid down and expired.

The processing here is $80.00 per deer. So kind of expesive to have them processed but it works out to about $1.50 a pound of nice lean meat!!
