Who are these people that they wait until now to load up on these things . Bad enough the ones who were clearing off shelves four years back. Like the folks around me who are lamenting the fact that they failed to procure a power generator even after two lengthy blackouts last year, and now they are dark and cold again.

The second after his re-election there was a Bradly, Humvee, an Apache and a Blackhawk with some guy on the loud speaker saying "this is a global gun grab, you are in violation. hand over your guns and ammo and we will not set fire to your home" so I put a x54r in the one that winks and fired a couple at the one that stinks as they ran away.

The strange thing is when they started to retreat, it sounded like Calvary on horse back riding away but when I poked my head up out of my cover...... it was a bunch of guys banging coconut halves together. I told them don't come back without a warrant and a shrubbery!

seriously, I may not be the best marksmen but I got enough ammo and skill to send at least a few home dressed in pine before the unleash holy hell on me. let them come!

I just hope it doesn't happen until after my new M39 hand guard is on the rifle

If your plan is to wait until they come for you at home then you are gonna die along with anyone with you. Your home like millions of typical homes is not defensible against the sort of power a government, or a gang of armed looters can bring to bear. Take some lessons from the Vietnamese, or the Afghan hill tribesmen, hit, run, and hide works, and keep a low profile.

If that's what you have when the SHTF then it will have to do, but I would strongly suggest a more modern weapon, AK, AR, FAL, M14, do whatever you have to do to acquire one, learn it inside and out and stockpile ammo for it.

I would love to have an FAL or M14. My plan for Shtf is a bit different, I'll choose to survive as long as possible through evasion, resist on my own mind and escape off into the air. I have a wife and 4 kids so being a front line insurgent or terrorist as we will be labeled isn't my deal. if I can't sneak through their AO I'll try to go around them but if I have to confront any force I prefer to do so from a distance, clear them out with well aimed shots from a concealed yet defensible position but I'd rather avoid any confrontation if at all possible. I would hate for my family to see me get all shot up and choking to death on my blood.

Walmart last night had some empty spaces on the ammo shelves but looking closer I noticed that it was all the "deer caliber" sections, 30-30, 30-06, 243...still full in the .223 and 7.62x39 areas.

I had a couple of errands to run this morning...while I was gone I received a e-mail from one of the vendors I order from that they had .22 Mini-Mags on sale this weekend...I have for the past 4 years grabbed .22 ammo whenever I could that was a good deal because, well, just because  ...anyhow, went to the site and 3 hours after I received the e-mail they were already "temporary out of stock" :o In 3 hours???...sure did bust my bubble... I have dealt with this company quite a few times in the past so I do not think it was just a ploy to get me to go to the site...I would assume there was a ".22 ammunition run" that happened...Who knows :vconfused: ..Just kinda bummed I was unable to get any...and this company does not backorder :b sad:

there seems to be lots of 7.62 x 54r for sale still, I got a email from The Armory.com saying that their prices are going up on certain types of ammo basically because they are being charged more due to supply and demand....they still have 7.62x 54r as of right now .

I watched two episodes of that show months back, haven't bothered since, I know how to prep, I don't need some dam fool on TV showing me how and in any case I am from the Cold War period, I am a survivalist, not some dam preppy prepper.

Did anyone else get the inventory update tonight from "The Armory"? I immediately thought of this thread when I read it. Pretty much says they had a run on their ammo, sale prices are canceled and they are paying more for their inventory from suppliers. Not sure if its OK to post it here, but I can forward it to anyone that would like to see it.
