hello ,nice to find this forum.i have a m-44 carbine from poland that i bought back in the late or early 80,s from a local dealer.it came wrapped up in paper if i remember correctly and was loaded with storage grease.all the numbers match.it was a never issued rifle taken out of storage in poland and sold on the world market.if i remember right it was s.i.r or century that had them originally.i cant vouch for that 100 percent.cost was 110 dollars.there wasnt and still isnt a mark on this beauty and im confident i was the first person to ever shoot this baby.im wondering if anybody else picked up these also ?
Very nice There are few people here who have the unissued. I have a pole but not in that condition. Welcome to the forum
The commerce which maybe carried on with the people inhabiting the line you will pursue renders a knowledge of these people important ~Thomas Jefferson~ (to- Lewis and Clark)
thanks.i remember the dealer had about 50 or more of them and they were all the same.you can put this beside any new rifle and it looks just as new.there is also a correct sling too.shoots very well i might add also .ive only shot 1 box of commercial ammo though it at the range and actually havnt fired it since then .
Ah the Polish M44 in mint condition. That is a very nice rifle. I just have a very sad story on how I missed one. Had it in my hands and my wife called and said that my daughter had fallen and busted her eye open. She was talking about cosmetic surgery and all. This was at noon. At 2:45 everthing was alright. At 3pm It had already sold. Sad times.
but that is a nice rifle
Very nice, mine is a year or two older but otherwise is the same, brand new, I got it around that time. Welcome to the forum
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Very nice that is a beautiful rifle you have there. Mine looks like it has been through a war but overall shoots great. Mine is a 52 as well would love to get my hands on a preserved specimen such as yours.
If you pull the stock off at some point, it "should" have a purple stamp in the bottom of the barrel channel in the wood. It will be in Polish and have the month and some other info on it.
For just a second there I thought that was a pic of a Bulgarian pinecone stamp
