YOU, will suffer for those pics. Only way you will get back into MY good graces is to send me a couple of good ammo cans. :D
Full of X39 and free shipping of course. Then you will have to be repentant! :D
You are obviously perverted with all that excess ammo you have. A step towards healing could begin with sending a bunch to
me. Less for you to be worried about exploding some day. So, when can I expect my ammo and cans to arrive? Just use lowest shipping cost to you.
I can wait for it to get here for perhaps a week. Then if I don't, I will take my ball and go home! :D :D :D :D :D :D

Have a great day Mike!

ROFLMAO!! I seem to remember you making a similar offer before on a different forum when I was on the ammo buying binge that got me into this mess. That intervention didn't work I'm sad to say because not only did I buy more ammo but more ammo cans and now rifles. I appreciate the offer old friend but I'm broke now and couldn't afford even the cheapest shipping. I'll have to wait until I take all of the stolen bowling shoes I have back for the deposit I put down on them. I thought the shoes looked cool it seemed like a deal but alass they're not very practical on a farm. Because they're so slippery to start with they're even worse when I walk around the yard behind the Turkeys. I guess I'll just have to figure out some other way to get back into your good graces.

That said here's a few more that I missed. I even had the dogs bed on top of ammo cans at one time. If you look at the one picture under the dresser that last plain brown box to the right with no lables is a 1000rd case of 7.62x51 NATO clean untarnished German MEN I got for my Garand. All the rest is 7.62x39 tins. The crates are 8mm Yugo, 7.62x39 Yugo and Russian 7.62x54R. I stopped at the bed. There's lots more under there, mostly 54R but I think I saw Jimmy Hoffa under there and I don't want the feds. poking around here so I thought better of taking any photos of there. :P

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

That's what happens when you have a little extra expendable cash and the ammo supplies build back up to where they were 2-3 years ago. I call the days after the last election the sad times. I couldn't buy even a single box of 40 s&w at Walmart, online suppliers were out of everything and primers were so hard to find that when you did you could only get a box of 100 locally for some ungodly amount.
Mike It sounds like your automotive career has been good. I sure am familiar with NIASE. I am about to turn 50 in a few weeks. In 80 I was graduating high school. Remember when you could buy R12 refrigerant for .99 a can? I used to save the empty cans for targets. It's amazing what a mini 14 will do to then when shooting Them while floating down the river! :)

Oh by the way what brought me on this post was the m45 SKS. when I went to pick up a SKS that my brother had for sale a couple of years ago I planned to buy a Yugo model. The grenade launcher model. When I got there he pulled out this Russian that he wanted to surprise me with. Refurbished 1951 painted bolt and receiver. I didn't know they called them bbq paint SKS's! It is a wonder to shoot. I absolutely love this rifle.

Always remember this about any BBQ Russian SKS. All of these were refurbished to 100% new condition before they went into storage for the next war.
These are virtually like a newly manufactured gun. A lot most likely in better firing condition than one we collectors call an original.

We have lots of hogs around here from what I've been told. We even have a guy up the road that my friend calls hogman because he goes out looking for them so much. I talked to him for a few hours one day and he's well....country to say the least. Doesn't buy ammo online because they ship you half filled boxes. He looks for his ammo deals in the classifieds. Oh well. That day he gave me an ear full of tall tails about huge hogs and almost burning up an ATV dragging them back to the truck. I'm sure these stories are somewhat true if not slightly imbelished. He told me there's plenty of them around here fairly close.

I have a small place about 4.5 acres that was part of an old dairy that closed in the 60's I have the main house and milking parlor (my future shop) and a few other buildings. The pastures are still behind me and are part field and part pine stands. It's about 180 acres, surrounded by mile and miles of more of the same and the son owns it now. He lives in Shreveport about 70 miles away so I don't get to see him much but he's told me I can do whatever I want on the property. Now that's great but I have to share it with my neighbors across road who farm it for hay. They basicly lease it from him by paying the property tax. They're like family to me now so it's no problem but I have to cordinate the hunting times with them because the wife and daughter hunt back there.

That said I've never seen any evidence of hogs here and I walk the whole place regularly, mainly because it's dry but about 1/4 of a mile up the road towards a bayou my friend had some show up on his place when we had a really bad flood a few years ago. He's 89 and doesn't hunt much anymore and had his neighbor and some of the guys come over one night to take a few of them out. They were rooting up his newly planted pines. Pines are a crop here. He has about 160 arcres and about 80 to 120 of it is recently planted in pines to harvest in 15 to 20 years.

They're here but I haven't seen any and haven't really gone looking for them. The day I talked to hogman he had 4 of them or what was left after butchering he'd brought over to our other neighbor to feed to the guys dogs. Steve you're welcome to come on down anytime you want even if I don't have the hogs scouted out. I've only been here just over 4 years and know lots of the community now so I may be able to hunt some on someone else's place.

You hit the nail on the head. I had expendable cash but I haven't been around for the past dry spells and knew nothing about them BD. When I got here I had what was left of a 440 round tin of some 54R I got at a gunshow 12 years ago, a few boxes of 8mm mauser 50's surplus 1 old .30 cal ammo can and the wooden crate the guy gave me when I bought the mauser ammo. Originally it was about 5 or 6 boxes of 15 that were in it. Had some 22lr and about 9 guns. That was it. This past year when my uncle gave me the Garand and the SKS I decided to look online for ammo because noone around me has decent prices let alone surplus. Once I found gun-deals and started buying it just hasn't stopped. I amassed all of what you see in the last year. I really didn't even know about corrosive ammo. It's been a steep learning curve to say the least.

I'm 50 and graduated in 1979 and went to AMI (American Motorcycle Institute) and graduated that in 1980. It was in Daytona right behind the Daytona International Speedway. I could hear them practice in the classrooms. When I went back to Maryland it only took one winter of being layed off to make me rethink my career path and that's when I went back to cars. I remember the .99 cent cans of R-12. I still have some. Used to vent it straight from the manifold gauges to do a repair. $15.95 to do an A/C service and that included one pound of freon. I remember when it went to $800 for a 30lb. bottle later on. I bought about 12 of them from a guy that was closing an appliance repair business and he sold me them for $150 each. His son was stealing them and selling them for drugs so he wanted to get rid of them. I made a killing on them. I guess we're just a bunch of old farts on here. A bunch of knowledgable old farts. ;)

The guys here can tell you what to look for in a Mosin. There are many varieties out there. Just ask the Mosin boys what is desirable.
They will advise for certain!

Ya gotta know that old Sheep Dog. When you say Finn, he just thinks feather. But, if Mike says he is perhaps interested in a Mosin, help educate him when he is ready and he will find the best of the best. Trust me, he will! That big nose will lead him to a collectors item if he wants it to. Seems he only has the real nice guns.

Welp we should direct him to a search for the elusive 1907 carbine then...That seems to be the hard one. :D

And when you do, don't feel bad if that guy found one. Give that boy time, and you may be amazed at what he can come up with.
