First of all I would like to introduce myself again. I'm Mike aka WeldonHunter. I joined this forum after a user here posted a link on this site to http://www.gun-deals.com in search of a good deal on some ammo. Since I have a Mosin Nagant M44 and love it I thought what better place to register. I see fairly good to great deals on various calibers of ammo a lot and since you guys have been so welcoming I thought I'd share what I find here with you good folks. I had asked in a previous thread where would be a good place to share good deals I come across and was told this section of the forum would be the place. Keep in mind that if you are a C&R or FFL holder you probabaly get better pricing on some of the stuff I see but for those who don't I'm more than glad to share. What would be more fitting than ammo for a Mosin Nagant in a Mosin Nagant forum?

Bumping this one since we have so many new Mosin Nagant owners that may be looking for ammo for their new rifle. The-Armory deal is also a good deal but if you live across the country their shipping can be high. SGAmmo has flatrate shipping so this price is the same to anywhere. I bought a case from The-Armory earlier this year and the shipping from them in Virginia Beach to me in Louisiana was $32 so it was more than the SGAmmo deal listed here. Remember to compare shipping prices guys. The base price is only one part of buying online. Depending on where you live the shipping can make the difference between a good deal and a better deal. Regardless The-Armory and SGAmmo have the best price for this ammo at the moment. You can compare prices here. http://gun-deals.com/ammo.php?caliber=7.62x54R
Note: The shipping on the ammo charts in the above link are just an estimate and you need to check the sellers site for exact shipping.

Yup, I had to check the shipping on a lot of sites to find the best deal for me. Luckily I live close enough to to make it worthwhile. My LGS had the single cans for $119.
Thanks,
Shawn

Exactly and with tax it's not much more to just buy a case like you did. I see guys all the time say you should support your local gun store but sometimes you just can't justify it. Not at price differences like that. Plus for me there really are no gun stores. Not close by. They're high too. Then there's WalMart. They may have some good deals but they have limits and I buy serious bulk so they're out. When's the last time you could go to WalMart and buy 700lbs of ammo? lol that'd raise a few eyebrows I'll bet.Shawnc wrote:Yup, I had to check the shipping on a lot of sites to find the best deal for me. One other thing to remember about buying ammo especially online is buy in bulk. Even if you have to strain the budget to do it. In the long run you save. Don't think "well I'm never going to shoot all of that". The reality is that case you bought has 2 tins and when you open one and shoot out of it that may last for a long time. That other tin is basicly suspended in time. It's not aging really. It'll still be good to shoot in 50 years if you don't open it. If you don't open it I bet you'll be able to sell it in a few years for what you paid for the whole deal and maybe more. It is surplus and this stuff won't be available forever. It will run out and there's a lot of these rifles all over the world being sold right now. Look at the 7.62x25 Tok guns or the M1A and M1 Garands, the .303 British just to name a few. Just about all of the surplus ammo for those is gone now. Buy in bulk and stack it deep. Ammo is the new gold my friend.

The last time I bought .308, until a recent gun show, was back in 2001 or 2002 for my Garand. I still have some of that left. This case will last me for years in a bolt action.
Although I may buy a new tin for every MN I buy.
