If you have 6 guns coming to your FFL is he going to charge you 20.00 each? Another 120 bucks?

Re: M44 & M91/30 package deal both for $219
I'm not sure. I guess so. I haven't even lined one up. I called a guy who had a gun shop but he's closed up due to lack of business. But he refered me to another one up the road but they were closed for the holiday so I have to call them tomorrow and work this out. He told me they charge $20 and I'm thinking it's per rifle. I don't care really. I'm upping the collection all at once so I won't be driving to gun shows and searching around. I live in the sticks so finding gun shops or going to gun shows is mostly a no go. Nearest gun shop is about 25 or 30 miles away. They don't really carry this kind of stuff. Mostly gun/pawn shops and the sporting goods and hunting shops have mostly just new hunting rifles. Nearest gun show is 70+ miles away. Even with the FFL charge I feel like I'm coming out ahead. That C&R is looking pretty good right now. I'm getting while the gettings good. These rifles won't be for sale to much longer I think. They've become so popular who knows how long the supplies will last.bunkysdad wrote:If you have 6 guns coming to your FFL is he going to charge you 20.00 each? Another 120 bucks?

I just tried placing the order with aim and it won't let you add the M44, says they are sold out

Well all I can say is good luck. I hope it goes well and even at 120.00 for 6 guns that's a good deal. Maybe they will have more m44's available in the morning. I'd hate to see them sell out of black Friday deals before Friday. Bummer

Re: M44 & M91/30 package deal both for $219
Thanks BD I think it's going to be fine. I was worried I wouldn't be able to line up an FFL before they got back and started processing orders. Bryan, president of AIM is a friend of mine and though he knows what I've ordered and the order number I was worried if I didn't get this FFL paperwork to them someone else might cancel my order by mistake. I just got an email from him about an hour ago and he told me not to worry because they're not opening back up until Monday anyway but he's going to make sure they wait for my FFL. As far as getting more of the M44s back in I doubt it. They had them listed seperately here http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx? ... search=m44bunkysdad wrote:Well all I can say is good luck. and it says in the description he was told that these were "the last of the importable quantities". That and earlier when I checked this listing it would only tell you it was sold out if you added it to your cart like the package deal is doing right now. Now it says "sold out" and not "notify me when it's back in stock" like it usually does if they're planning on restocking an item. I do know they're expecting more Hex 91/30s monday. Maybe they'll find some in the shipment.
Just a reminder too. The code blkfriday still works for the round or hex reciever 91/30s and drops the price on them even though the ad says different. The round is $69.50 and the hex is $79.50.

The local shops here in Remchester country want $75-$100 to do a transfer, this came about after the Clinton era ATF shut down most of the home 01 FFL's.

This is insane. I just couldn't resist that blkfriday deal. $95 for a hex Mosin shipped to my door. That's an offer I can't refuse.

Nope, that's just the Lower Hudson Valley of NY, this is one of the most expensive places to live in the entire country, everything costs more here, and you don't want to know about the taxes

WTF? One shop here wants $75, another wants $50, my LGS does them for $20-$25 plus tax. Three stores, three prices. Re: M44 & M91/30 package deal both for $219
Yep it's like that. I just talked to the place that's going to do mine for me and he told me since it's 6 guns I'm buying he'll give me a break on the price. He told me it's $20 to do one gun transfer but though it's 6 guns it's going to be one form so he'll cut me a break on the price. I didn't ask and didn't really expect it. Nice guy. Not what I'm used to. I lived in California for about 18 years and bought quite a few guns there and had to deal with all of the crap including DROS forms and fees. Here in Louisiana it's different. Down to earth people. Now that's not to say there isn't some places that charge a lot. In the same town there's a sporting goods type store that will do it too. I say sporting goods "type" because they sell all kinds of stuff from motorcycles, ATV's, lawnmowers and saws to guns and ammo. I've bought two riding mowers from them, POS John Deeres and some high priced boxes of ammo. He's high on everything. His FFL fee is $55 per gun. The guy that's doing mine is a gun store/pawn shop and he told me he welcomes the transfers. I told him that I'd be more inclined in the future to buy a gun from him since it's a lot easier and I can hold it first. That and he's not treating me like a redheaded stepchild by sticking it to me for the transfer. He said places that charge high FFL transfers are saying they'd rather not do them but if you insist well ok but you're going to pay.Fred_G wrote:WTF? This was a great deal. I just checked the web site and it says the M44's are sold out.

Yep. The expensive stores treat you like the red headed stepchild. They don't get my business. The other sporting goods store, that charges $20-$25 gets my business. I can see if I was buying guns online that they had in stock...WeldonHunter wrote:Yep it's like that. Re: M44 & M91/30 package deal both for $219
Well I'm originally from Maryland. Another stronghold of liberal anti-gun sentiment just like California. I love it here. I'm in a small community called Weldon in north central Louisiana north of Ruston. I'm at home here. There's some of the best people I've ever met here. Yep we have the interweb here. Barely. I had to get satellite internet to get any kind of bandwidth. Only dial-up here and it's only 28.8kbps. Sllloooowwww. I told this guy I collect firearms and the funny thing is he wasn't even sure what a Mosin Nagant was. I told him I also was in the market for a few other guns besides C&R stuff so while I'm there I'll check his stuff out. If I see something I like I may come home with more than 6 guns. Just for grins I asked what ammo he stocks and he said he doesn't, insurance is to high. I'm not looking for any but I just asked in passing. There's no way he could match what I can get it for I'm sure. It's so hit or miss here with ammo and related stuff.
Oh and speaking of anti-gun sentiment a friend sent me this about Mitt Romney today. Very interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=F9Ygw9CQ9po

Re: M44 & M91/30 package deal both for $219
This deal might have come and gone but I was told by Byran at AIM today he's working on getting more of the M44's. The deal is in the works and he might be able to offer this deal again when/if the deal works out. Depending on what the get them for he may be able to offer this deal for the same price or even better.
I seem to remember someone asking about MO marked rifles and they've just got some of them in. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx? ... osin9130MO They were also supposed to get more of the Hex M91/30 rifles in today too but they haven't listed them yet. Bryan told me this deal was so popular along with the other things they were offering they are now more than a week behind in shipping. He told me they usually process 600 orders a day and ship stuff the next day after ordering.
For those of you who were wondering how my order for the 6 Mosin Nagants I ordered went well it's handled and they'll probably ship out tomorrow. Bryan handled it himself. I'll post pictures of them once they come in. Maybe by the end of the week.

At these prices how could I not? Now that said I'm sure these are going to be average rifles and one thing they won't have is the huge banner import mark that PW Arms stamps on the reciever. I asked Bryan about that and he said these are't coming from PW Arms like the ones Classic Arms is selling. I have nothing against PW Arms. They're a great importer/seller and I'm glad they're around. I just can't stand that import mark. Bryan chuckled when I told him about that.desdem12 wrote:6 In one fell swoop???? I've been telling myself I need to get more of these because they're going away especially the M44s and this was my chance. Done all at once.....for now! Now I can relax and collect.

I can just about gurantee you that a year from now you will be as happy as a pig in poop that you bought the six. It seems my biggest regrets are deals I passed on.

Re: M44 & M91/30 package deal both for $219
I've been hunting/shooting for over 30 years. I've bought a few guns along the way. Until this year I never really was that serious about collectables and have kicked myself already for not buying 6 of the M44s when I got my first one for $69.99 or my VZ24 for $99.99 12 years ago . I believe you are entirely correct though in a year I'll be glad I got these but I'll also probably wonder why I didn't get 12, lol. I'm already thinking that. I mean lets be realistic, how many is enough. There really isn't a number I can think of.SA1911a1 wrote:I can just about gurantee you that a year from now you will be as happy as a pig in poop that you bought the six. Re: M44 & M91/30 package deal both for $219
Are you getting popped $20 per transfer? I'd imagine you are and a C&R would have prevented that. Additionally, if you are getting a package deal you are still only saving $ 10 or the cost of a C&Rand that does not take in the conveince of not having to drive to the shop. Still, 6 rifles for $650 is a good deal.WeldonHunter wrote:Ok I did it. I just bought 6 new Mosin Nagants. I got 2 of the deals they have listed and a couple M91/30 hex rifles. That's 2 M44s for $149.50 each, 2 round reciever M91/30s for 69.50 each and 2 M91/30s at $79.50 each. Shipping was $50.90 for all 6 rifles. I don't even have an FFL lined up yet and I just noticed my ID is expired as of Nov. 2. No problem I know who I'm going to call and if they give me a hard time about the ID I'll get that straight. I talked to Bryan at AIM a few minutes ago and he knows about the FFL so once I get that part straight and have them send it to AIM I'm in business. I did call a guy that had a gun store not to far from me (20+miles) and though he's closed his shop because of the economy he told me of a place near him that does FFL transfers for about $20. This is my first online firearm purchase and I'd have liked to have been more prepared I couldn't pass these up. This might be the last time these are this cheap. I bought the M44 I have 12 years ago for $69.99 at Big5 when I lived in California. I've been putting it off and I kept thinking I might miss out if I didn't get these soon. Well it's done. The total came to $647.90 for 6 rifles. I don't like buying a firearm without looking at it first but I took a chance.
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

Well the guy I'm using does charge $20 for one transfer but when I talked to him and told him I ordered 6 rifles he said he wouldn't charge me $20 each but will give me a discount since it's 6 rifles all on the same form. He didn't say what it will be but I was ready for $20 each so anything less than that is fine with me.
I've given a lot of thought to getting a C&R. I might eventually but I'm also not going to wait until I get one to take advantage of a deal like this. You're right I saved $10 but that was only the 4 M91/30s. I also saved $51 each on the M44s. They normaly sell them for $199.99 and they came out to $149.00 each. The thing is I have no way to buy these unless I get them online. The guy doing the transfer sells guns and he didn't know what a Mosin Nagant was. I'm in the sticks. A C&R would make life easier but I'll deal with that in due time. My big sticking point about the C&R is the legal end of it. I don't want the BATF in my business and no matter what anyone says about it being no problem I'm still hestitant. I'm old and hardheaded so it'll take me some time.
