Are there any reliable no drill scope mounts for a MN
I have a really nice M38 that I would like to put a scope on. However I don't want to drill or modify the rifle. I want to get a no drill scope mount and buy an additional bent bolt so that I still have all my matching original parts to put back on. Has anyone had any success or know of a reliable no drill scope mount? There is a guy locally that I can buy a bent bolt from for a decent price and if I can get a good no drill mount I'll probably spring for it and put a scope on.

There are several available, the Darryl mount is the one I hear about, but I have no experience with this sort of thing, as a rule I do not scope millsurps, I like to experience them as the soldiers did.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I don't think a scope would help a m38 very much but you never know i guess. I am waiting for the cyborg eye implants they are designing for us old blind guys.

Probably not, never really heard of one. Lots of recoil on those rifles so anything clamped on will eventually come loose, probably sooner than later.

I keep looking at the Jmeck wrap around, but the claim seems to be a little bit too fantastical to be true.
The appeal is that you can still use the iron sights to about 300 yds under the tunnel.
Anyway, like daddy said, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I've used both the Darryl mount and one from S&K. Both are rock solid, hold zero and easy to install. Neither is exactly cheap, tho. Also, since both are scout mounts, you can use your original bolt.

"Jmeck wrap around" Sounds like a rough hand job. .mrb7 wrote:I keep looking at the Jmeck wrap around, but the claim seems to be a little bit too fantastical to be true.

I used to own a Brass Stacker mount. Played around with it a bit and discovered I wasn't a fan of shooting a scoped mosin and took it off. Was a good setup while I used it.
Got it out of my system though.

There is a guy on Youtube named nutnfancy and he has all kinds of videos on Mosins and he has one with a scope mount that somehow replaces the rear sight and mounts on the sight housing. You might want to check his out and maybe contact him. He has a lot of videos on Youtube about Mosins and seems to know his stuff.
