Hey guy's, here is one that's a little hard to come by and treasured by many "Finn" collectors.
It's an Finnish M24 which was produced for Finland's Civil Guard, it is sometimes spoken of as a "Lotta's rifle" as a result of the contribution/fundraising by the Finnish ladies auxiliary which was instrumental in paying for these upgraded rifles.
This rifles barrel was made by the Swiss company, Schweizerische Industrie-Gesellschaft, which is also referred to as SIG for short, it is one of the first order of M24 barrels from that manufacture and were produced to the same spec.s as M91 barrels.
From my reading of the mosinnagant.net website, that information states 2500-3000 non-stepped barrels were produced, making it fairly uncommon today.
Further information suggest that according to it's stamped matching Civil Guard district number(S 1466), it is in the range of the roughly 6665 rifle numbers assigned to the Helsinki district.
On to the pic.s!
