Everytime you guys talk about crates and buying them I laugh at what big mouths and small brains can do in the Milsurp field. I use to as a service remove for free those crates from my local dealer and from the shop I worked at till some stupid big mouth SOB came along and started buying them from the dealer. At times the garage was so full of cases there was no room to walk but then he wanted $5 each for me to take them. I bought them for awhile but then he was getting upward of $25 for them and had idiots standing in line to get them and bidding on them. All cause one idiot said he would pay $20 for one and that blew the whole free deal away. Just a great example of how big mouths and small brains can screw things up for the rest of us. Now do you see why I preach at you guys to stop educating dealers and complete strangers of things we are looking for? No I doubt it! Ego's get in the way of brains very often and someone will puke their hard earned knowledge to the definate wrong people. Just try and remember the saying from WW2 "Loose Lips Sink Ships" Bill

PS I sold the motherload of cases years ago when they peaked at about $40 a piece around here, all I have left are a couple of Maxim Machine gun boxes, for the carraiges I think?

So if you are going to be there Saturday maybe we could meet up at the gun shop. It would be cool to meet someone from the forum. :)

It will be a bit before I'm that way... But when I do I can give you a heads up. If you don't mind... Find out if they want to sell the crates. If they do & the price is decent can you get me one? I'll send funds & even buy you lunch for your troubles. I want me a crate, & maybe a few of those Mosin's too!

Keep us posted. :vcool: :vcool: :vcool:
I will see if I can get a crate or two depending on the price. I know a couple of the guys there wanted the crates, so I will have to see if they are willing to sell any.

Until recently I couldn't get crates within a hundred miles of here as nobody stocked 91/30's by the crate load. Now there is one local shop that buys them by the crate, and I get the empties for $50 each, I couldn't possibly build them myself that cheap. I have two now, both filled with 91/30's and I need a third for the rest, that crate should be available soon. After that I want a fourth for storing my heavy winter gear during the summer.
