Re: Rarest & most uncommon Mosin Nagant in your Collection
I think mine are relatively common but, My rarest are my 1891's, My very clean T53 and my 91/59. I guess the Romanian would come in somewhere and the sniper version. I also have this really ugly black painted one with a strange rear site a T in a triangle, dated 1932 with a sa in a box on the side. S...

Re: Izhevsk Production
I too feel that the Izhevic production was a finer made rifle. But the differances between an unissued 1954 Tula and Izhevis is difficult to determine. But I also wonder if that preception is because more of these went directly into storage. When these Russiandss were first imported the cleanist cam...

Re: Very Late 1949 TulaRefurb.
YooperJ has the transition as 1951. http://yooperj.com/SKS.htm But examples of non-chromed bores have been documented into 1952. I haven't looked for a link to confirm a non-chromed 1952, but more than one has surfaced. And, more than one 1950 has been confirmed with a chromed bore. All depends upo...

Re: Best 357 to get.
LG, ya just had to say S&W Model 19. Now there will be no living with the Sheep Dog. :D Pinned and recessed to boot. Excellent choice, the 19 and the 66 are perhaps the finest revolvers ever made. My 66s, which are the stainless versions of the 19, put a buddy of mine's overvalued Colt Python t...
Re: Yugo SKS
JYD, can I have it? :D Please? No, It just occurred to me, the Egyptians made the AK rifle, I have one, but I never thought to ask if they also made the SKS. I always just call the Rasheed the Egyptian SKS because when I say Rasheed to most people I get a blank stare in return or they say gaz...
Re: Yugo SKS
If you like the Yugo you should try a few other nationalities. My favorite is the chinese para sks. There were lots of Chinese sks imported and many were not in the best of condition. So be sure you get one that is not too battle weary. Also there are severl versions of commercial sks available. Suc...
