Re: Beat Up Mosin's Now Going For $469.95 !!

Another thing to remember about Mosin's, is the fact today the power level has been magically elevated to almost "Magnum status" by today's younger shooters. 50 years ago shooters embraced the .300 Winchester and .300 Weatherby Magnums as powerful cartridges. Cartridges like the .308 and ....

Re: Beat Up Mosin's Now Going For $469.95 !!

This is just like the SKS madness. You had guys not that long ago buying Mosin's for $69.00. Then they went on the Internet raving about what great rifles they were. How the ammo was so cheap and powerful. And how you could buy a crate of them for what a Mil-Spec AR costs. This sent more guys to buy...

Re: Beat Up Mosin's Now Going For $469.95 !!

I am sure the ATF or some other Federal agency would love to visit and make sure you have that much ammo stored right for public safety. Course if you don't they will have to seize it! They would be far better served confiscating every one gallon lawn mower gas can, that's in most every garage in A...

The trick is to stock up on the ammo when it was cheap as well.

Beat Up Mosin's Now Going For $469.95 !!

Never thought I'd live to see the day. And they're round receiver Ishevsk's. I paid $69.95 For Hex Receiver Tula's with all the accessories just a few years ago. http://www.jgsales.com/mosin-nagant-91-30-round-receiver-rifles,-7.62x54r,-original-finish-1943-izhevsk,-c-r,-used.-p-102449.html https://...

Re: Picked up a Springfield M1A today!

I am way more fond of the wood stock. The black synthetic stocks are growing on me however. If given a choice I'd go with wood every time. Any M1a would be better than what I have now. I agree. My only wish is that Springfield would make a "Deluxe" version of the M1-A. With a nicely figur...

That's a nice rifle! I'm thinking of getting another. A Standard Model. You can't have too many M1-A's.

Re: Picked up a Springfield M1A today!

Springfield M1-A's are great rifles. These are my 2. One is a NRA / Camp Perry Commemorative that I haven't fired. The other is a SOCOM 16. The SOCOM is one of my favorite range guns. I haven't scoped it because I really like the Tritium Sights. I want to get one more. A Standard Rifle like yours. T...

Re: Value estimate for my Tula?

These will follow SKS's in value. A few years back I paid $89.00 each for 2, 30's Hex Receiver Tula's with all of the accessories, including bayonets. I remember when they were practically giving away new SKS rifles. Now beat up one's go for over $400.00. Same with a lot of these Yugo M-48 Mauser's....

Re: A Pair Of Hex Receivered Tula's (1931 & 1936)

Just curious, is your '36 counterbored? Mine is, it's a non refurb Tula with excellent rifling. It shoots with the best of 'em. I'm curious why it was counterbored, was it an accuracy issue when it was new? Here is a shot of the muzzle. I believe It's counterbored. Both of mine shoot very good as w...

Re: New Ruger Mark IV 100 Year Anniversary Edition With Knife

Damned nice! But I was a bit confused at first until I read the fine print on the box that it Commemerated 100 years from Rugers birth; Not the birth of the Ruger Standard. Yeah, I should have made that a bit more clear. I've heard some guy's complain they don't want a gun that commemora...

Re: Tapco 30 round ak-47. magazines.

CDNN Sports has new in the oiled wrapper Bulgarian steel AK-47 magazines for just $14.88 each. I have purchased dozens of these magazines from them, and they are far superior to any of the cheaper plastic magazines on the market. I've seen old, rusty, beat up specimens of this same magazine selling ...

New Ruger Mark IV 100 Year Anniversary Edition With Knife

I've had my eye on these for a while, but Davidson's was always showing them to be "Allocated". (i.e. hard to get). And Davidson's is the only distributor who exclusively handles this model. A few weeks ago I was having my morning coffee and I saw they were showing they had 10 in stock. I ...

Re: Ruger 77/22 rifle

Now that's really nice and you can get these stocks very reasonable too. Mine's maybe a year old and it cost a little under $100 finished back then. I paid $99.00 for that one. And I had it in just 4 days from placing the order. I was amazed at how beautiful it looked when I took it from the box. T...

Re: PPU Brass

PPU brass is some of the best reloading brass I've ever used. It has very uniform primer pockets that have just the right amount of tension. And they stand up to many reloads. I especially like their .300 Win. Mag. brass.

Re: Ruger 77/22 rifle

I love the Boyd's Laminated Thumbhole stocks. This is one I put a stock Marlin X-7 in .223 into. Looks and shoots like a dream.
