Re: Cold War Pistols

If I was heading into a war zone, I'd be reaching for that Bulgarian Mak. If I was going to the range with some friends, it would be the CZ-52 all day long. Nice collection; you've got to love the Czechs, overhauling each Russian design that comes their way, and generally making improvements in the ...

Re: 1951 Tula SKS looks like new

That is a very nice rifle; I would be willing to bet that it was a parade/demonstration rifle and was probably only fired a few times in practice. As to shooting it, go right ahead, just steer clear of all that mil-surp corrosive junk, as it is best left to folks who pick up well worn, semi smooth b...

Re: What powder are you using to reload?

For small to mid sized standard rifle cartridges (such as the .308, 7.62x54R, .303 Brit, and .30-06) you can't go wrong with good ol 4064 or 4350, I have also come to appreciate the consistency and smell (ya, I know, I'm weird) of Hodgdon Varget.

Re: Remington R51 9mm.

To be honest, I was kind of concerned for people's safety when this handgun came out, being as Remington's quality control as of late has been, well um, less than adequate, to put it rather kindly. To add injury to insult, I have seen more Remington's fail than any other marque, from multiple 1100s ...

Re: PPU Brass

I have reloaded, or assisted in reloading, PPU, Norma, Hornady, Remington, Sellier and Bellot, Federal, PMC, LC, and Winchester brass, and so far, from what I have seen, PPU is (weirdly) the most consistent, just my 2cents.

Re: Romanian Tokarev

I picked up a very nice 1953 example a while back and have been using it as a sort of "out in the sticks" gun ever since. It's run dirty, clean, rain or shine without a single hiccup, the bluing is a little worse for ware, but I suppose that is to be expected. I had originally settled on t...
