A bit different non-refurbed 55 Tula

Re: Thought I'd share...

I know of one Albanian, but no Romanians up here. We thought we might see some along with some East German ones when Marstar bought that 10,000 piece SKS lot in Africa a few years ago. But John went and sold the whole thing to some big dealer.

3 new non-refurbs 54 Izhevsk,55 & 56 Tulas

This trio of rare non-refurbed SKS45s arrived from Westrifle this week. All were in very nice condition. I'm really impressed with their new pinning method. 1st up needs no introduction. It's a late 1954 Izhevsk http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu330/Woodbeef/001_zpsdf75e0c5.jpg http://i660.photob...

Hey Howie?

I see your cast receiver is from a "Rectangle Factory" code just like the stamped ones. Any idea as to why the experimental only came from them, instead of the normal factories?

Re: Egyptian Contract SKS

Very interesting rifle and read. Would these have been used along side Hakims and Rasheeds, or used for fill in/reserve type weapons before Egypt started production of the AK 47? The Rasheeds were made from 1966-68. Never thought about these interesting SKSs and Rasheeds being used at th...

What's the left side look like around the cross bolt? The right side did not always get cartouches. I agre on the shellac being stripped.

Re-picked up a Vz52/57 this week

Had a chance to buy back the nicest Vz 52/57 I ever owned. Turns out the guy I sold it and two others to was moving, and wanted to lighten his load. As is typical with these, the stock and receiver match, but on this one so does the op-rod. Bolt is off by a couple of hundred numbers. Sems he was holdin...

Nice assortment there Sir! An ex-DDR Russian is one thing I've never seen up here. Not even from the early 90s importations. I have seen ex-DDR M44 Mosins with /1\,/2\,and /3\ stamps though.

I gotta agree with Howie and Old Outlaw. You either stick to only allowing as issued or bubbas. You can't have it both ways.
