Re: M-1 Garand sights
On the target subject...back in 1967, i was issued a M14 semi-auto rifle...fire selector removed, at Fort Polk , la..Basic infantry training involved firing about 400 rounds i guess... one of the last firing sessions, we fired at automatic Man-shaped targets..We were not to adjust the sights for thi...

Re: M1 Garand with a different type stock
Okay, My two cents..The tanker had a small forward piece of wood for a grip. Not on this model.....This rifle has a special made piece of "Blued" steel to hold the barrel to the fore-end..plus the gas cylinder is painted black, ahla, WW2 ..Not many Garands were ever blued, perhaps Parade mo...

Cabelas has supplied me in the past years with some nice replicas. Of course my favorite is the all steel frame .44 remington, 1960 I believe...Plenty stout and a lot of fun as long as the cylinders are sealed properly...

Re: Tumbling brass with ss pins?
Okay, websterz, I was wondering about that part..the wet solution... I had used weak dawn dishwashing solution and soaked my .40s&w brass...When It dryed, I saw some white crud in the primer sockets, so I went back a scraped them cleaner...I usually use the flat tool in all the primer sockets, be...

Tumbling brass with ss pins?
I missed out on where you buy the tumbling pins for cleaning brass? I have used rice, corn cobs, crushed walnut shells, but not metal.. Would BB's work in the tumblers? I use a lyman and a frankford tumbler..Thanks....Plus who cleans brass wet, and what liquid do you use?? Thanks too. RH10.

This one looks pretty nice, love the stock, I see the small front handguard...good...Not all of them operate without some tweaking, so try it with several types of ammo before giving up..The op rod has to be be bent in perfect profile...Hopefully yours will shoot as good as it looks..It should be a ...

Re: Ballistics comparison
Them Europeans have to use metric for everything, so comparisons with American ammo get too complicated for a old fart like me. I'll tell you that a .303 greek HXP round hit a 1/2" steel pistol target 9" round and welded to an 18 " piece of angle iorn @ 50 yds. This target weighs 4-5...

Probably the public school upbringing talking but... Murder weapon or angry girlfriend prices. It was an older guy. Just had knee surgery. He probably bought them a long time ago when they were cheap. He most likely had at least the $400.00 in them, even if bought over 20 years ago..You got a real ...
