Still pretty confused by this whole kerfuffle. How were they being sneaky? How *could* they be sneaky? They can't prevent you from buying ammo without you knowing about it.

Re: Debating Which Rifle To Get Next
Anyone have a line on Berdan primers? Or any north Texas folks want to split a 5000 primer case? I'm ordering a K-31 as we speak, and I worry about the GP-11 drying up...

Re: 91/30 groups
My shooting today with a new front sight and PPU soft points was probably 8 MOA with point of aim barely on the paper at 6 o'clock. They tended to string up and down with a few obvious fliers. I wear glasses and it's becoming obvious that the upper left corner of my right lens, through which I sight...

He was a mess from all the pills these head shrinkers proscribe like candy these days. I don't know the details of this guy's mental health as well as people closer to him, perhaps, but just wanted to interject a thought. There's some chance, I would think, that if the poor guy was being treated by...

Re: Reloading Mosin w/ ~.314 bore
That's a lot of (seemingly very good!) information for a novice to digest. I'll start by asking: Does all of what you said about choosing bullet diameter based on throat diameter apply only to cast ammo? How does one choose the best jacketed bullet? Thanks,

Re: Import ban! Time to stock up!
Seems like the more you tell some people that something is dumb and they shouldn't do it, the more they want to do it, as if you're more right if you're pissing someone off.

I'll give up my armor piercing rounds when I let go of my explosive and incendiary rounds.

Ok...I definitely have fire formed brass I can measure. So, inside diameter? I'll check that and post soon. Thanks very much for the info.

Re: Bore diagnosis
OK, that makes sense. For the moment, then, I'll load some with the bullets I have, shoot some slightly more controlled tests with a variety of factory, reloaded, and surplus ammo, and check back. Just out of curiosity, if one wants to be able to shoot, say 3 MOA or so, does one have to spend a lot ...

Re: Bore diagnosis
I haven't shot surplus out of it at all. The factory stuff I did shoot through it was pretty inconsistent, but a front sight that proved to be loose in its dovetail and the big difference between POA and POI, elevation-wise, make it difficult for me to draw many conclusions based on that. I have a m...

Bore diagnosis
Well, I need to decide how far down this particular 1931 Izhevsk hex receiver rabbit hole to go. Please give an honest opinion to a Mosin Nagant newbie who wants a reasonable shooter without carving up a nice, historical firearm. I just slugged the barrel for the second time after trying to thorough...
