Re: Question Tokarev TTC 7.62x25

There is some WWII history that makes the Polish Tokarev essentially the same as the Russian TT3. First the Germans invaded and defeated Poland before attacking Russia, but the Russians puposely waited for the retreating Nazis to come thru again and essentially destroy the Polish manufacturing (Wars...

Re: 1978 Albanian SKS Model 561 Door Opener

My first SKS was a "78 Albanian and it was all matching except for the trigger assembly. Range-wise, after adjusting the front sight, it shot a 3-group well under an inch at 25 yds and the trigger is probably better than my other 4 Chinese SKSs. The Albanian is definitely one that will apprecia...

Re: Finally!!!!

Sorry, Old Outlaw, if I stepped out of bound on Matt's SKS. I am a willing student. To keep his thread positive, what information can you give, or questions can you ask, that would help him find out more about his new rifle? :)

Re: Finally!!!!

Nice "Finally", Matt72601. I got curious about the 138 arsenal and found the following thread about a similar 138 SKS: http://www.ar15.com/mobile/topic.html?b=4&f=83&t=152835 Also it should be of interest to Funtowin since he has posted on your thread. Fun-to-compare! If we follow ...

Re: 1956 SKS

My other Chinese SKS with 1958 date did have two holes underneath butt plate. Does your '58 SKS show an I/O import stamp on the barrel? I have seen the double trapdoor butt plate on several I/O Sino-Soviet rifles at gun shows. One even had an "Albanian" paint job similar to yours and a Tu...

Re: 1956 SKS

Your pics got me wondering, so I went back to my safe to check out my '78 Albanian and my '56 Sino-Soviet. Both have the side (Calvary) sling mount on the stock like yours, but neither has any stamped serial numbers like yours (i.e., cyrillic and 4 numbers, but not matching your left receiver side)....

Re: SKS information for YOU

Greetings, Mr. Yooper, your website has been a wealth of information and I have been looking at your recent revisions. In section 32, finding the date of manufacture of the Chinese /26\ rifles, I noted that you had 2 pictures of 1 million series marked rifles, i.e., /26\ the 3 chinese characters and...

New SKS member signing in

Greetings to you all, I wish I had caught the SKS bug earlier, but there are four in my safe and are as follows: 1978 Albanian (yes, a longer forearm assembly and double trap butt plate with oiler and cleaning tube) 1966 Chinese /26\ mint, all matching (first yr for spike bayonet; all milled with 1/...
