Re: Split cases
old surplus ammo is not a good gauge of anything, this ammo it is of an unknown quality when it was new, (mostly very serviceable, but not always) then unknown storage conditions, (hot, cold, dry, wet or most likely all of them over many years) don't get me wrong I shoot a lot of surplus ammo and it...

Re: Anyone know where to get the p/u mount
OP I will assume the rifle you have is a sniper and is already drilled and tapped correct??? If so there are members here that may have some original parts or know of persons that do; good luck with your search. also there are reproductions being made of varying quality just to get the firearm out t...

Re: New Sniper! Help on authenticity!
thanks for all the info guys, my sniper is a refurb also; this just verifies it to me the how and why of the small inconsistency's like the cut wood in this example. it is clear the armorer doing the refurbs wasn't worried about any future historical significance, just "get um done and get home...

Re: Are we missing anybody?
We fixed that problem here in Arizona. State law prohibits the destruction of firearms seized by law enforcement or purchased through government authorized buy backs (except for ones that have been illegally modified). Upon disposition of a criminal case, the firearms are required to be sold at auc...

Re: New to me rifle safety check begfore firing!
Both had the barrels finished in a similar finish to original. Who'd go to all that trouble and then not bother to stamp the barrel? Not sure but many seem to do that! there is one in my safe now, a Remington Mohawk, that is marked .222 and is cambered in .223, :big shock: I need to take it and hav...

Re: Smooth bore 69 cal. muzzle loader
I found out I need a better camera, or I have to take my Brown Bess outside to get a picture of it, I cant get back far enough to get the firearm in one frame in my shop, maybe I need a panorama camera   anyway, I cast some .69 balls for it and now trying to come up with a dowel the corre...

Re: Smooth bore 69 cal. muzzle loader
I have to cast up some .69 and .71 caliber balls and shoot my unfired (and nearly unsnapped!) 80's vintage Brown Bess Pedersoli that I bought very cheap at an estate sale about 6 weeks ago. the wood work and parts fine is exceptional on this piece.
BTW it is .75 caliber

Re: TC Renegade 50 cal. Flintlock
Me too. I got lucky when I lived in PA and found one of the older Renegades in .50 percussion. They are great all around rifles. Mine shoots patched round ball best. The 1 in 48" twist just doesn't seem to do well with conical projectiles. you need to try some "TC" maxi balls, I thin...

Re: What should I do with this stock?
for 200.00 that was a no brainer buy even without a stock, at least I would pay it. I like the stock as is, and I would keep the gun as it is a nice early model. like has been said, sadly there are a lot of original stocks on the market :vsad: I put a timber smith on one of mine but the correct stoc...

cheek weld on snipers question
I have a nice PU sniper so I know what a jaw weld is
the question I have is what snipers actually had good face/eye position?
I would like to pick up another WW1-WW2 vintage sniper that I can shoot and not rack my fused neck.
just making a dream list

I have one and am very happy with it, I think you will be also. I have some vids on U-Tube about mine; FYI, I am not highly knowledgeable, I know enough to be dangerous but I do try to learn as I go. it is pretty lame but here is my vid if you are easily entertained  https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: Original Mosin Nagant PU Sniper Rifle
I got one of the Classic ones, what makes me think it is at least mostly real is the stock cuts for the scope mount look to be the same age as the rest of the re arsenal. looks real to me? and I would like to know if it really was one in 1943. but it is a fun shooter and far cheaper that most of my ...
