I have one also. Look at the base of the rear site base. On these converts there is a square notch that can be seen from either end.

Re: Grenade launcher
Yugo SKS grenade launcher is screwed on, then pinned. And has the same threads as a L1A1 FAL. 9/16 x 14 right hand thread.
Practice grenades were available for $50 each. Lost the link but it could be found again.

Tang stamp is a number 2 only and an outline of a hammer. Was wearing glasses and used a magnifying glass.

Sounds like a good excuse to take it apart. Cleaning out cosmo is a labor of love anyway.556m16 wrote: Clean it up there might be some active rust under the woodline.
I have seen a lot of damage caused because they were not cleaned after importation
Will have at it.

Re: Ex Dragoon, so that's what I bought
As I mentioned, looks like a 91/30.
So what are the thoughts of leaving it packed in cosmoline? Or clean it up?
I have more than enough shooters and see no reason shoot this one just to say I have shot it.

Is an updated Dragoon the same as an Ex Dragoon. Either way it looks like a 91/30 but for the rear sight base.

Ex Dragoon, so that's what I bought
Was just visiting my friends gunshop a couple weeks ago. When things slowed down he motioned me to the back. He wanted me to see the Mosin he had gotten and thought it funny that his help would not like seeing all the cosmoline that had to be cleaned off. A 91/30, matching with all assesories. I fin...

[quote="Chiroptile"]Thank you! I don't intend on shooting it until I can turn the gas setting down from 1.7.. /quote]
So just take off the top cover and loosen the Gas Cylinder . you will be able to adjust the settings with your fingers. Of course don't leave it that way.

Sanitzed 91/59
Did not pay much notice of the stampings, just the condition. Bright shiny bore, a new looking refurb. A good deal for $280 so I bought it. When I got home I realized there was no original date on the barrel and nothing on the tang. Any info. on this group of "59"s that is known other than...

Bought my "59" by accident several years ago. Visiting a pawn shop I had found several deals in times past and I saw what I thought was a 38. Was vertically in a rack bottom facing out. Did not need another but wanted to look anyway. The clerk knew me but I had not had my wife with me befo...

Thats a cool idea. Hadnt thought of that. What the heck kind of brackets/fasteners did you use to hang it?? My crate weighs a bloody ton....even empty! The brackets are cast aluminum 8"x14" with a steel bar to reinforce the load. 3, 3/8 lag bolts 5" long per side, any longer ...

The muzzle blast will give you a concussion and a fire ball that make street lights turn off.
Love the way dust and small rocks jump off the ground front of the muzzle when shooting.
