Re: 1944 Husqvarna M38, a rare Swede.

Bought a 1944 M38 for $150 a few years ago from a guy at my local gun show because he wanted his money back when he bought it in 1998. Sold it to friend for $350 thirty minutes later because I didn't know what I had. What a dummy I was. Very nice guns!!! I have only seen 2 1944 Huskies for sale in ...

I had a 1941 Husky as well but it was not a excellent example and sold it off.

Yes, some I have shot, but not the 1944 ones.

I have a large Swedish rifles collection and just shoot the Ljungman and M96's and CG-63's the most.

And you guys wonder why I always say I would rather be lucky than good? Great finds and after maybe shooting that one time I would retire it to become a safe queen. Make sure if it has import marking they did not strike the barrel hard enough to bulge the liner inward and make it unsafe to shoot. T...

Yes the other was the same only marked P-27 Definitely these came from a serious collection, and sometimes you just have to wait till the owner dies before the collection gets broken up. If you could have got them both, you would not have hit a grand slam, you would have won the world series. By th...

Re: Russian and Ukranian Ammunition Supply

If they cut the supply to the US of Russian ammo it will sure help drive down the price for us here in Canada, when they stopped the supply of SKS's, SVT-40's, Norinco M14's and Steel cored 7.62x39mm ammo to the states the price of them dropped to almost half what we were paying and stayed that way ...

Re: Winchester Model 1917

A lot of these M1917's got rebuilt during and just after WWI and during WWII. I have a Eddystone one (serial # 569483) that was completely reblued and all matching parts except for the Remington stamped trigger, stock and barrel. It was fitted with a like new 3-18 Remington barrel (March 1918) and a...

Re: Black paint and one other question.

Was it typical for the Russians to dab these rifles with black paint to touch up bluing imperfections? As I cleaned up my "new" '43 Izhevsk, I noticed flecks of paint coming off here and there. And, is using white paint/nail polish on the rear sight graduations considered modification? Ye...

Re: Thread for Matching Bayonets to Rifles (Sticky)

In Canada we got a few shipments of M91/30's with all matching serial number bayonets, I have a about 4 that are all matching with excellent bores as well. I think that these were refurbed and kept together until shipped here.
