Re: How To Change Magazine on SKS
My apologies to each and all, did not in any way intend to cross a line and apparently I have. I myself do not believe that a military weapon of any type should be chopped and dropped if it destroys the original design. Again I am sorry.

How To Change Magazine on SKS
Not that I am chommping at the bits to change my Yugo but I saw somewhere a SKS that had been modified either by the manufacturer of owner to allow use of AK magazines. Only real reason I might concerned this is because of how many AK mags I have on hand. I don't know if it will change the 922 regs ...

Re: Looking for advice on Rommian PSL
Greasemonkey, that is the type advice, information that I was looking to get. I have rifles that in the hands of young eyes and steady nerves can reach out and do it's job. The PSL for some reason has always drawn me to it, maybe its just a guy thing but I have reached the age now that kids are grow...

Looking for advice on Rommian PSL
I know that 10 different people can have exactly the same rife, or for that matter any item, and each will have a completely different response and experience. For the last few years I have look at the PSL not for any particular reason or use but like it for some reason. There is a gentleman close t...

Pictures of my AK
Took me a while to get the photos and they are not super but still gives a decent idea about the newest toy. Took it out back today along with two others and wasted a few rounds. To my amazement this AK without the muzzle brake had very little muzzle climb and with iron sights was shooting tight gro...

Re: New AK
I don't know for sure about when this one was imported, but it does have a little more Umph to it as far as the overall weight of rifle. Set down last night and loaded up 10 mags, everything from 10rd to 40 rd, and had every intention of wasting a bunch of shells today. I even pulled out the 75rd dr...

New AK
I had an issue for some reason about spending good money on an AK for a very long time. Don't have any real reason why I didn't like them, just didn't care for them. Several months ago I made the plunge and got my first AK, it was one of the WASP Rommies and it truthfully much better than I expected...

Re: Arisaka Type 99 Nagoyo Series #10
I bought one way back around 1964-65 for a whopping $3.00 at an old barn/junk sale place. The best I remember the mum was intact, but had about 5-6 inches of crud or something in the barrel. I had no one around for guidance but was able to sand down the metal, clear the barrel, then to protect the m...

Re: M1 Garand
A few years ago I had the chance to buy an Iwo Jima commemorative M1 and missed out because I had to think about it. Back in the mid 60's we used the Garand for funeral detail and trained with it for ground defense forces. I now have one of the American Heritage Foundation Korea War commemorative th...

Re: Target Results
Have never met ammo i don't like to shoot :bwink: Years ago after a good friend of mine convinced me to "Reload" my own I had no knowledge that different shells would shoot different in each gun. I have a .380 that I like to carry, when test firing it for the first time I used Cheap ammo,...

Re: Target Results
Thanks for the flowers and all, I have one tree in the back I really don't like and between myself, my son and grandson we are doing all we can to kill that thing. Right now it must have around 40-50 pounds of lead thru the base. Range was around 45-50 yds, would have went for longer range but daugh...

Target Results
Finally got a chance to take the Mosin out back and give it a small work out. Started off with my Henry 22, then the AK just trying to get up the nerve to shoot what I thought was going to be a kicker. Surprise is not the word, smooth solid push and with ear muffs I didn't even hear the shot. Target...

Re: Scope for the Mosin
It only takes a few times for me to realize what you meant. I didn't want to do anything that would take away from the rifle, got to many others that I can play with. Thought there might be a way to put scope on it without serious rework. Thanks

Scope for the Mosin
I have been looking at different types of scope mounts for the 91/30, but still no closer to making a decision. One mounting system seems simple enough, remove the rear sight and the scope mount attaches in the recess, then use a long eye relief scope. Others look like a considerable amount of drill...

New Navy 1851
Found a way to get the wife buy a new gun for my collection. Only had to spend around $5500.00 on a new roof and adddition over the porch. Had contractors here for last two days and work is coming along great. Wife was so happy she broke out the Cabela's catalog and started ordering for me. Can't wa...

Re: GrandSon and his knowledge
It is amazing at just how technical these video games have become. My son who is now 39 played the games and still does, taught him eye to hand coordination, making rapid decisions. At first I criticized him for too much time with them, but guess he has the last laugh on the old man. Now he is a Sen...

Re: Jukar Flinter
I got one of the Tower pistols at a flea market one day, paid $20.00 for it. This one was the decoration model, had a piece of pipe instead of barrel. I called Deer Creek and with in four or five days had all the parts I needed to turn it into nice shooter. Typical of most things my grandson wound u...

Re: Jukar Flinter
Jukar was turning out some pretty good stuff back then. Many folks bought these to use as wallhangers, over time styles changed and the pistols ended up in the attic, then out at the tag sale for $40. I look for them all the time :vcool: Every so often I still find one at Flea Markets, and a few of...
