I'm in for the win!

I've put "slack springs" on all of my Mosins. All it does is keeps the trigger from flopping around. I'm not sure if this is your issue or not.

I got them from C & R Surplus Spring.

I just ran into the same problem on the M44 I picked up yesterday.

Fortunately I had another firing pin in the parts bin...swapped it out and its fine.

I found that it's good to keep various spare parts around for just such situations.

Bought myself a 1952 Polish M44 for my birthday :D It's a bit of a hodge podge. Barrel and floorplate match. Bolt does not match. Hungarian stock, Budapest arsenal, Hungarian buttplate. Dark stock with a light top handguard. It's been counterbored. Nice bright bore. I dub thee "the mongrel"...

Here are a few more pic's. I need to give it a good cleaning. When I got it home I did run a couple buckets of boiling hot water through the barrel and ran a couple patches through it.
