Re: What's Your Best Purchase Of 2013?

I have bought two WASR 10/63s, four type 53 Mosins, a 1939 91/30, and a 1992 Chinese SKS. I'd have to say my favorite was my $60.00 U-fix-em type 53 with matching numbers. What a surprise.

Re: Traded for first SKS

I have always liked the SKS too. They just seem like good shooting, relatively well-made guns that fire a comfortable intermediate round. I have always thought their safety is excellent. It is one of the better placed safeties that I'm aware of. It is naturally easy to flick it off as you shoulder ...

Re: Traded for first SKS

I have two of these; my only SKS rifles. Great fun to shoot and surprisingly well made with good fit and finish. I did a complete tear down and cleaning on this one, I think they seem to be very well made. Like it a lot better than my WASR. I have more fun shooting these rifles than my A...

Re: Traded for first SKS

It's not one of the various sub models, it has a full length barrel, and no other import modification done. It was imported by CSI in Ontario, Cali. It possibly has a pinned barrel if it's that late in production also, I have a inned barrel and it's quite the shooter  One interesting thin...

Traded for first SKS

I traded a WASR 10/63 for this mint unfired Norinco SKS and cash. I believe from the sticky's that this is a commercial SKS made in 1992. I would like to know what sub model it is, or what name it was sold under, such as paratrooper, sporter, etc. I can't find any arsenal markings on it. http://russ...

Re: U-fix-em Type 53 Matching numbers

Just picked up one those 53's and it's my first . After cleaning the cosmoline off everything i think? the firing pin screw moved. I'm new to these and does anyone have a measurement as to the length and or depth the firing pin should be out of the bolt carrier. Thanks anyone, ROVEN :?: Very import...

Re: U-fix-em Type 53 Matching numbers

Wow, that's a really nice Century T-53 - the nicest I have seen, U-Fix-em or not.   We can't elaborate much on the "16" you are asking about - we just don't know. What kinds of other markings are you talking about. Under the wood line there are sometimes lot...

Re: U-fix-em Type 53 Matching numbers

They've taken the listing down for the T53's u-fix-ems, looks like they are totally out of them. You can however buy the cracked stock ones in the regular C&R section, buy three and you get a discounted price that brings them down to $81 each shipped from my figures. They sure sell them fast. T...

Could you elaborate on that? Lots of markings on these rifles, compared to my Russian Mosins.

U-fix-em Type 53 Matching numbers

I picked up a couple of Type 53s from Century arms recently. They were of the u-fix-em variety. I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the rifles. The first rifle was numbers matching with about 80% of the bluing intact and a very nice shootable bore. It's two defects were the missing upper ...

Re: New Members, Make your first post here!

I have recently been bitten by the surplus rifle bug. I really like the Mosins in particular. I have two, a 1939 91/30 and a 1954 Chinese Type 53. I am looking to move up to some more collectable Mosins in the future. Would like to find a number matching M44 without import marks and an original snip...
