I'd love to shoot 600yds. Every round would be a hit cause there's no way I'd now the difference, lol.

I'd be scared to leave my home for fear of a burglar making off with my rifles. Do you use a security system?qz2026 wrote:Oh, while I'm thinking about it, a few Argentines, a few more Finns and a cat a.k.a "shit for brains"

Re: CMP is out of working man Garands
They aren't out of M1's. They simply suspended sales so they could catch up on the back orders, but the CEO did say on the CMP forum that he expects they'll go through all the M1s they have this year so the end is in sight.

I took a photo today of my M1A, WWII M1 Carbine, and WWI 1903. I bought a nice birch stock for my M1A and decided to take a family photo of some other Service rifles. http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj535/TheMaineEvent01/Mobile%20Uploads/2016-05/45C76004-4D22-4C44-BFB2-16DCE8027985_zpsncgbjp9t.j...

Re: CMP question?
Yes, you have to meet their qualifications to order from them. I have to send them my 2016 range membership before I can order ammo since they check every year to make sure your qualifications are current.

Re: M1 Garand
Everyone charges more than CMP, but their for sale forums are where members sell their Garands so while prices are higher there than what you'll pay through the CMP it's usually better than what people are trying to get on Gunbroker

Re: M1 Garand
Look at the asking prices on The CMP forum to get an idea of real world prices. Most rifles are priced pretty close to market value there.

AIM is a good place to buy from, but if you want to see what you're buying then gunbroker or Simpson, ltd. are the places to buy from.

Re: M39 Shooting high
What distance were you shooting at? These were meant to engage targets at 300 yards at out so they tend to shoot high at anything less than 300 yards, and as zeebill stated, bullet weight can also play a role. Beautiful rifles with nice grain!! I'm a sucker for tiger striping and will buy a rifle if it has nice striping just to add it to my collection. I'll add to the list by showing a couple of my striped M39's. http://i1266.photobucket.com/albums/jj535/TheMaineEvent01/Tiger%20Stripe%20M39/d5b74e2f54002c...
