Re: Now im getting angry , 1911 mag
Seems to be a common thing with 1911's, with magazines that is (picky). I bought a used RIA M1911 and the gun is very very nice, love it. But the magazine that came with it was a Meggar and I emphasize was as it's in the trash can. Same basic problem you had. Rushed down to the local shop and bought...

Good deal on RIA in SoCal
Don't know if it's okay to mention a sale on at a local (SoCal) Sporting Store chain but there is a really good deal on RIA Mi M1911 A1's at Turner's Outdoorsman for $419.98. I have seen as good if not better prices on out of state dealers but that involves a FFL01 fee and many just refuse to send t...
and I had my jeweler put gold dots in my sights for greater visibility. (Cheaper than you would imagine) Edit: I thought you all might like to see the results of the gold beads. The Jeweler, who is also a WWII vet, added the beads for $20.00.
I like that touch on the sights. However...

Re: RIA 1911 10 day wait is over
In a couple days if everything goes right. If anybody is interested will let you know how it fires. I can't wait. RIA1911.jpg Made it to the indoor range. Sorry no pictures of the target at 12 yards, I am old and shaky so hitting the target I can, groups??. Not yet anyway. Bottom line I love this g...

Re: RIA 1911
I have a Colt Officers MarkIV series 80 Stainless Compact ,and really like the stainless steel because I am a part time Boat captain on salt water,so I would like to know if Rock Island makes a Stainless Steel model .45 . and what people think about it, No, as far as I can gather they make the M191...

Re: RIA 1911 10 day wait is over
As per my earlier post on this thread I now have the RIA M1911 A1 at home, cleaned and lubricated. Ready for the range. A little caveat, I am in my 70's and somewhat frail so handling a 1911 is not like a P22. I have never owned anything .45 let alone a 1911. But I had to have one. As mentioned earl...

Re: RIA 1911
Read these posts and just couldn't wait to put up a picture of my first 1911. It's still in prison (10 day waiting period). I have read nothing but good reviews about the RIA's. This is a 1911A1 and is in excellent used condition. Needs some cleaning and oiling and then it will be right into that in...

Re: Surplus Nagant ammo
Remember if it's Milsurp it's corrosive. I bought some awhile back just to collect to go with the Nagant. For shooting I bought Privi Partizan. A little less worry (cleaning) that way and not that much difference in the price per round.

Ortgies .32 ACP gets a little brother! Pic Heavy.
I made a post awhile back about an 1895 Nagant leading to a Ortgies (.32 ACP) and now it has a little brother (.25 ACP). I was nosing around just over the pass into Ventura county to look around a couple gun shops and spotted this little Deutsche Werke - Ortgies Patent - Werke Erfurt in at least NRA...

Re: 91/59 1937
You will like that 59! They are really nice carbines. I made my first post on this "new forum" regarding my M91/59 (Blondie). http://www.russian-mosin-nagant-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=479 It's hard to tell from your pictures but it may be a "Blondie". They show up from ti...

Re: Nagant Revolver
Anyone know of a good Nagant website for info? Try G. W. Leiper's site (he is one of top, if not the top, collector in this country of Nagant's). His main site on Russian Revolvers is: http://www.russianrevolvers.com/ More specific his section on the 1895 Nagant. http://www.russianrevolvers.com/nag...

Re: American Bulldog 38 S&W
i have the earlier model iver .38s&W. i have shot one cylinder, and i still have all my appendages. I don't think they are that dangerous if you use the right ammo. They probably have had a lot of ammo through them. Dolk From what I understand, and someone correct me if I am wrong, that ....

Re: FFL Transfer fee in CA
I called my local gun shop and I wanted to buy an M44 online that's 199.99, and Turners the gun shop wanted 150.00 for a FFL dealer transfer. Isn't that redicilous? I called ammo brothers, another local shop and they wanted 75.00 for the FFL transfer. Isn't that pretty high in price, even for Calif...

Re: CZ52 versus Nagant Revolver, Advice please
If you can get both go for it. If not I guess the CZ is first then as soon as possible get the Nagant as the price is right. I have made a couple earlier posts on a really nice 1935 double dated (1951) MO Nagant and it is fun to shoot up to a point. It is NOT a .38 special S&W for shooting. I ha...

Re: 1895 Nagant leads to a Ortgies Patent Werke Erfert
What is the difference from the ammo in this thread and what I have. The round is halfway down the case and doesn't look like what is posted here. Only a guess, maybe they are "blanks". I can't tell from the picture if what's in the case is an actual bullet or not. Otherwise maybe somebod...

Re: Mixed & Matched Mosin Parts?
Nice video, I like those POV's. Winchester ammo? Next, an almost immediate step, get a tin or crate of some good Russian MilSurp corrosive. You have done the cosmoline cleaning routine already, now it's get the hang of doing a quick cleaning of the corrosive salts before you leave the range and a mu...

It's more than common, it's almost guaranteed!
How did the 91/30 fire?
Don't know if this is your first Mosin Nagant or not but the rule of thumb is you need to get another to compare it to and on and on.

Here's a link to get you started. It's in Russian, I used translator software but the pics will give you the idea. It shows the progresssion from the late 1920's (Zeiss, Walther then Geco) to the PU in the 1940's. http://www.berdan.ru/in.php?tnum=1&dvar=http://www.berdan.ru/rus/rifle/sniper/&am...

Re: You guys wanna' see something cool?
First, a very nice MN. I am curious about the GECO part. Maybe someone could post a little more information of what and where the GECO sniper is or came from. I never heard of it before as it relates to MN's In German it stands for Gustav Genschow & Co which made guns and ammo since about 1912. ...
