Re: 91/30 Safety repair or replacement?

The easy way to use the safety: 1) hold the rifle in you're left hand 2) place butt plate against your right bicep 3) use 2 fingers and thumb from right hand to manipulate safety doing it this way allows you to pull without having to fight the spring while trying to hold the rifle tight. Re: Bore Snake for cleaning Mosin's

I take this as just about the definitive study on cleaners. See how they stack up. http://www.surplusrifle.com/reviews2006/alittlesalt/index.asp So... rinse with hot water, then clean with your favorite product as normal and oil the metal surfaces to inhibit rust formation? Sounds like what all of ...

Re: Stripper clips

I bought 10 original clips from a seller on eBay (can't remember who) for $17 shipped, I believe. They all work well.

Edit: They are still for sale - http://www.ebay.com/itm/261177767631?ss ... 1439.l2649

They have increased in price, now up to $22 for 10.

Eau Claire is a 3 hour drive for me. Nice town, I went to school at the State University there. I almost stayed in that town after school.

Sellier & Bellot makes it, in the Czech Republic. Says so right on the box.

Re: A dream, back to 1960...

I hopped over to an inflation calculator. It helps me, a young whipper snapper, put the prices into perspective. For example, "The Reb" Colt copy by Navy Arms would be $707 in today's dollars! You can order a Pietta Griswold and Gunnison copy from Cabela's tonight for $200. Keeping with t...

That's a long drive from WI! You should do great, if you do anything like the last target you posted!

Re: Range Etiquette

Where I shoot, the 100 yard rifle range operate the same as the pistol range. Shoot for 13 or so minutes, cease fire, check targets, resume for another 13 or so minutes. Alot of guys will bring a spotting scope (if they don't have glass on their rifle) to check as they fire. The 300 yard long rifle ...

Wow! Those rifles have a well deserved reputation, as long as guy behind the sights knows what he's doing! Great job!

Re: Some Shooting (target pics)

Let me give you some things I learned from shooting over the years! Go right now and find a person who is an certified instructor and pay for some learning. They will teach you the way to shoot and not get into bad habits. If you don't when you reach my age the bad habits are almost unremovable! I ...

He is only 32, he can still join the Marines and learn how to shoot :) Good shooting, it's nice here but I am so buried in chores and spring cleaning that I can only do wish shooting at the moment. Great Chootin !!! Got me beat !!! How in the hell did you even see the target at 200 yards ?????? Jim Very carefully! ;mywink; Probably beginners luck. I wasn't expecting anything at 200, so I was very pleased with those results. I'd like to say it was my stellar, hawk-like vision, but I'm very nea...

Some Shooting (target pics)

It was such a nice day up here in WI, although a lot bit windy, that I decided to go and see how the M44 I picked up in March would perform! The other day I sighted it in at 25, then 50 yards, behind dad's house, but that is the extent of the range I could go because the field beyond that was mud so...
