Re: Question about trigger assembly issue (i think)

The sticky bolt issue was due to the ammo. I have used both wolf brand and monarch in it before the other issues with no binding or sticky bolt.

Re: Question about trigger assembly issue (i think)

Some factory in Russia I think. The ammo is probably 40 to 50 years old.
Even unfired the ammo would bind with the bolt when trying to extract it.

Re: Winchester Model 1917, fills a collection slot

Any idea where I can locate an original stock so I can restore it. I intend to leave the scope as is but would love to get am original stock and a bipod for it.

Re: Question about trigger assembly issue (i think)

I know the original issue with the sticky bolt was the ammo. It was surplus russian ammo that had been reloaded to many times and the base of the casting when fired bulged back causing the bolt to bind on the round itself.

Re: Winchester Model 1917, fills a collection slot

My grandfather picked it up in the 50's and sporterized it and put a scope on it.

Question about trigger assembly issue (i think)

I have a nagant that's pretty much straight out of the box military issue, i have fired it a few times and had issues with the ammo not extracting (issue with the ammo itself) For what ever reason when I cycle the bolt, the bolt will come out of the receiver and when slid back forward the firing pin...

Re: Winchester Model 1917, fills a collection slot

I was recently given one (read yesterday December 28th) that used to belong to my grandfather, It is a remington, stripped it down cleaned it and will be shooting on sunday after I get back from my parents house.
I have traced the serial number to a manufacture date of October 1917.
