Re: M27 Without a D Stamp
The letters A , F & D stamped over the chamber areas on the M27 rifles represent chamber characteristics. These letters to not represent a bore diameter. Read through paragraphs 3 , 4 & 5 : http://www.mosinnagant.net/finland/The-Finnish-M27.asp

Re: PL marked Tula Finn capture 91/30
This PL "Field Stamped" version is much more uncommon than the "rolled" PL stamps as found on some of the early 1941 SAKO M39s. Great find.

Captain Correction on those totals - probably closer to 1000 of the M28/76s produced. Not 10,000 . 866 imported here.

Re: 1940 PU SCOPE IDENTIFICATION
Your scope is actually an SVT40 scope and not a PU. However it is the appropriate scope for on a PU rifle.

Re: "american caputered" sniper
Also i would like to know what makes the mount a fake....is it due to there not being any marks on it. I have read where there was a machining difference in reproductions....any additional info would be great. What the other members said . In addition with the rifle's receiver still proudly wearing...

Re: Post Your Scrubbed Barrel M91s!
What is the story on yours? Scrubbed with a low Ser# is interesting. Like your rifle it falls into the serial number range of the relined rifles that some believe were done before the P-26 date stamps. But I can't see if it is relined due to the full 3" counter-bore! Has your rifle been reline...

Re: anyone catch the M91 SA stamped bayo on fleabay?
The top right hand corner is the weakest part of that stamp strike, so no there isn't any detail in that area. The m91 & M91/30 bayonets didn't have a large flat spot to easily accommodate a full coverage strike with that big stamp. That is the nature of the beast with this style of [SA] stamped...

Re: anyone catch the M91 SA stamped bayo on fleabay?
There isn't anything about the SA stamp that I can see that screams fake. But the price tag would have held me back though! - Might be because I already have an [SA] M91 bayonet in my collection.

You are a hearty breed for sure. I am afraid that I would get lost & freeze to death on that flat land!

Re: Odd 1940 M28-30 Any Ideas?
The M28/30 stocks used on the early M28-57 rifles would have been retrofitted ( cut later on for the bolt handle & for the sight) and it would have been easier to make all square cuts. The M28/76 stocks were made up new and that front notch would have been easier to contour at the stock making f...

Re: Odd 1940 M28-30 Any Ideas?
Yes what Pahtu said . That is a nice find on the M28/30 with a target stock. I believe that your new M28/30 is wearing a stock that was once mated to an M28-57 target rifle ( designated to competition & target practice). There is a little bit of their history written here : http://archive.is/8vq...

Re: Heavily used and abused 41 Izhevsk m38 non-import marked
Here is a link to an M91/30 that once owned ( traded it off last winter) with some similar features. No import markings on my rifle and the seller that I bought it from said it came from Korea. Both rifles having the staples used to repair the cracks in the hand guard. I had believed that my rifle w...

Re: Finnish M28 & M28-30 for Sale Question About Finish
Here are pictures of (3) M28/30s and another M28 with different shades of red. Lighting can really affect the picture taking of rifles.
