Re: Finally.. Pics of my Steyr

I know mine has Austria marked on it with no nazi markings of any kind. I bought some clips for it and those are Nazi marked.

Re: 1955 Type 53 Showcase Consideration

Look at the C.A.I. import stamp. I can't tell from the picture but it should be etched "after" the bluing was applied. If that stamp is blued than the bluing was done after the import mark. The metal looks great compared to the stock. I can snap a pic of it if you like, It is stamped and ...

I haven't shelled out the dough for a 1903 yet but may need to. They are not getting any cheaper.

Re: My Steyr M95/34 Showed up today!

:vcool: :vcool: :vcool: Very nice, cleaned up real nice. How is the bore? Most of the ones I have seen have had good bores on them, clean and shiny. You will love shooting her. It did clean up immensily better than I thought it ever would. The rifle looked horrible (relative term, more like straigh...

Re: My Steyr M95/34 Showed up today!

Here are the pics. It actually cleaned up well. It definitely shows a story. The stock has the current serial and well as 3 others. The girl has definitely been around I feel. Haha That crack is at the base of the stock on the multiple serial number side. The butt plate has 0 bluing on it and looks ...

Re: My Steyr M95/34 Showed up today!

Ok decided to take off all the Cosmo/grease first. It is soaking tonight. Kinda surprised how it is way more involved to disassemble. I got a mosin down to minutes to tear apart lol These seem to come quite goopy. My hands still smell like it even though they have been scrubbed a couple times since ...

Re: 1955 Type 53 Showcase Consideration

This is a nice one, I wonder if the pointed object used on the stock was the firing pin? The previous owner/soldier sure seems to have maintained it well. I thought that as well but forgot after cleaning it to see if the end fit into the indentions. That chu wood is soft. You could make a indention...

Re: My Steyr M95/34 Showed up today!

Yes it was the ones from J&G. I bought one from my LGS and was awesome condition a couple weeks ago. So ordered another one. My LGS also had 50 rounds for them. The one I bought from them I took to the range and holy kick! A little more wallop than my mosins...

My Steyr M95/34 Showed up today!

And I am kinda disappointed. They described them as very good condition and mine showed up with maybe 40% bluing and a banged up cracked stock. :( The bolt action is actually awesome but everything else not so much. I called them and they said that out of the shipment they get maybe 20% fall to what...

1955 Type 53 Numbers Matching

Discussion Section This is my Original 1955 Type 53 produced at Arsenal 26 that was sitting at my LGS for a few months. I overlooked it since it was WAY high priced, but finally looked at it closer and made a offer he accepted. http://russian-mosin-nagant-forum.com/showcase/T53-1_zps1d23f3a5.jpg ht...
